Tamborine National Park Closures, Gold Coast Hinterland (QLD): Cedar Creek Rock Pools Shut to 28 October, Walking Tracks Closed to 18 December and Cedar Creek Parking Rules

The Cedar Creek rock pools and the track to them in Tamborine National Park are closed from 22 to 28 October 2026 because of wet weather, but the walking track to the Cedar Creek Falls lookout remains open. Queensland Parks lists separate closures of parts of The Knoll and Palm Grove sections until 18 December 2026, and warns that the Cedar Creek car park is limited and parking along the roads beside it is not permitted.

Pan Pacific Masters Games 2026 on the Gold Coast, 6 to 15 November: Venues, Pan Pacs Central Hours, Free Transport Nights and Parking (QLD)

The 14th Pan Pacific Masters Games run on the Gold Coast from Friday 6 to Sunday 15 November 2026, with more than 40 sports at venues across the city. The Games’ social hub, Pan Pacs Central, is at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Broadbeach, and the organisers say participants can use free public transport with their accreditation on the opening and closing nights only.

Both rounds of free tickets for the HOTA Outdoor Stage at the Mayor’s Christmas Carols have now been released: 9am on Monday 26 October and 6pm on Tuesday 27 October. The City of Gold Coast’s What’s On Gold Coast page for the event lists both times, and the shows are on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November. Gold Coast is on Brisbane time, so these are Queensland times with no daylight saving.

Parking at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre on Marine Parade in Southport is metered. The City of Gold Coast says there is metered parking at the centre and in the local Broadwater area. The City’s page does not give a rate for the meters at the centre itself; its Broadwater car park page says that car park charges $3.60 an hour from 9am to 7pm, every day. The centre lists a Swimming Gold Coast Relay Championships on Saturday 31 October from 8am to 1pm, and warns that parking may be limited on event dates.

Without a booking, parking at Melbourne Airport costs $17 a day in the Value car parks and $62 a day in the Terminal car parks, according to the airport’s drive-up rates effective 1 July 2026. The Terminal car parks give the first 15 minutes free, and the Wait Zone near the Tullamarine Freeway is free for up to 60 minutes if you are collecting someone.

With an online ticket to the Let’s Go Explore Caravan and RV Expo, you can travel free by Queensland Rail Citytrain to the Brisbane Showgrounds on the day you attend, and the Exhibition station loop trains run from Roma Street, Central and Fortitude Valley during the show. The organiser says parking at the showgrounds is extremely limited and Gregory Terrace is closed to traffic, so plan to arrive by train or use a park-and-shuttle option.

Melbourne Park says public transport is the quickest and easiest way to reach Rod Laver Arena and the other venues, and tram route 70 stops at Rod Laver Arena at Stop 7B. If you drive, the Eastern Plaza Car Park costs $20 pre-booked or $30 drive-up on event days, and a flat $7.50 on non-event days.

Parking in the City of Hobart’s Argyle Street Car Park is free for the first hour and costs $6 for one to two hours, rising to $27 for seven hours or more, as of 23 October 2026. It is open from 6:30am to 10:00pm every day, has a 2 metre height limit and 1,155 bays, and a skybridge on Level 3 leads to the Wellington Centre and the Royal Hobart Hospital.
