This guide uses SA Health’s fees page for metropolitan hospitals, as checked on Friday 23 October 2026. SA Health says information on its site is subject to change without notice, and that anyone relying on it is responsible for verifying its accuracy and currency, so confirm the fee on the signs and ticket machines when you arrive.

SA Health’s page also has a separate line for the multi-deck car parks at Flinders Medical Centre, Lyell McEwin Hospital and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital: a daily rate of $19, starting at $4 for the first hour. That line does not mention the free 30 minutes that appears in the FMC table above, so treat the FMC table as the more specific figure and check the signs if you plan to park for exactly half an hour.
Who can park at FMC for free or at a discount?
SA Health lists these exemptions for Flinders Medical Centre:
- A patient who holds a current Disability Parking Permit.
- Volunteers approved by the health facility manager or delegate.
- Bicycle parking in designated locations, which does not include motorcycles.
A different, wider exemption applies at other hospitals: patients, or parents or carers of a baby or young child patient, who must attend hospital for clinical reasons at least once a week for at least four weeks. SA Health lists that exemption for the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Modbury Hospital, Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Lyell McEwin Hospital, Noarlunga Hospital and the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. It is not in the Flinders Medical Centre list. SA Health adds that other patients, relatives or carers may be eligible, subject to the approval of the health facility manager.
What is the weekly ticket for relatives?
At FMC the discounted weekly ticket costs $56 and is for relatives of inpatients only. You buy it at the Car Park Office during opening hours, and patient details are verified before the transaction.
