The Redcliffe Markets Festival of Frights runs on Redcliffe Parade from 4pm to 9pm on Saturday 31 October 2026, with free entry and no plan to cancel in bad weather. If you take a bus there, three stops on the Parade close from 10am that morning, so you will be using a different stop.

This guide uses the Redcliffe Markets page run by Goodwill Projects, the Visit Moreton Bay listing and Translink’s stop closure notice, all read on Tuesday 27 October 2026. Redcliffe is on Queensland time (AEST, UTC+10), which has no daylight saving.

What time is the Festival of Frights and where is it?

The organiser’s market page gives the hours as 4.00pm to 9.00pm on Saturday 31 October 2026 at Redcliffe Parade, Redcliffe QLD 4020. The same page says the event is open rain, hail or shine and asks visitors to check social media for updates to trading. The same page lists the regular Redcliffe Markets as open every Sunday, 8am to 2pm from March to November; it does not say whether the Festival of Frights changes anything for Sunday 1 November.

Item What the organiser says

Hours 4pm to 9pm
Place Redcliffe Parade, Redcliffe
Entry Free
Wet weather Open rain, hail or shine
Regular Sunday market 8am to 2pm, March to November; nothing said about 1 November

What is on, and do I need a ticket?

Entry is free. The Visit Moreton Bay listing says that registering for a free ticket puts you in the draw to win a prize, which suggests registration is optional, but the listing does not say whether the gate will turn anyone away without one. Check the registration link on the listing before you go.

The listing describes stalls with tricks and treats, gourmet street food from South-East Queensland, live entertainment, stilt walkers and fairies walking through the markets, a scavenger hunt and family activities. The Best Dressed Competition is also listed. The listing does not give stage times or say how children can enter the competition, so those are not confirmed.

Which bus stops are closed on Saturday?

Translink says that from 10am on Saturday 31 October to 4pm on Sunday 1 November, some stops on Redcliffe Parade are closed because of the Festival of Frights. If you travel on routes 660, 680, 690, 694 or 696, you are told to use alternative stops. The notice was last reviewed on Saturday 17 October 2026.

Closed stop Stop number
Settlement Cove Lagoon 310881
Charlish Park 310882
Redcliffe Jetty 310883

The replacement stops are shown on a map on the Translink notice, not in its text, so this guide cannot list them. Open the Translink notice before you leave and use the Journey Planner for your trip home, because the closure runs until Sunday afternoon.

What other bus options are there?

The Redcliffe Markets page names three places with bus routes close to the markets: Mall Way, Bluewater Square and Anzac Avenue, and sends visitors to the Translink Journey Planner for times and routes. It does not say which routes serve each one. Translink’s closure notice names routes 660, 680, 690, 694 and 696 as the services using the closed stops.

Where can I park?

The markets page says Redcliffe Markets sits on the waterfront on Redcliffe Parade, about a 30-minute drive from Brisbane, with free street parking and a car park at the northern end of the markets. That description is for the regular Sunday market, not specifically for the Festival of Frights night, so the organiser’s social media is the place to check for any change on Saturday.

Accessible parking with ramp access is listed at the Chemist Warehouse car park and the Woolworths car park, with more accessible street parking around the markets.

What should I know before taking children?

The listing calls the night family-friendly and lists a scavenger hunt among the activities. It does not give an age guide, a quiet time or a rule about costumes, so check the organiser’s page on the night. The market page notes that trading can change, which is a reason to look at social media on Saturday afternoon if the weather turns.

Where else on the Parade can I eat?

The festival listing promises South-East Queensland gourmet street eats on the night, but neither it nor the market page names the food vendors or says which nearby restaurants and cafes will open on Saturday evening.

Is there another Halloween event this weekend?

Ipswich has its own Halloween weekend. Our guide to the RiverLink Halloween Wicked Weekend in North Ipswich, 30 October to 1 November covers the dates and how to get there.
