Five of the six Halloween events we found in the City of Gold Coast’s What’s On listing are free, and all five take place on Saturday 31 October 2026, but three of them need a booking or registration. The sixth, a Michael Jackson-themed kids’ party at Burleigh Heads on Sunday 1 November, costs $30.

City of Gold Coast Road Projects Running Into 2027 (QLD): Where the Council Lists Roadworks, Closures and Detours Now

The City of Gold Coast’s own list of road projects shows work running into 2027 in Pimpama, Southport, Broadbeach, Coolangatta, Surfers Paradise and across the road network. The City lists two closures on its Mebbin Street project in Pimpama: Mebbin Street itself, shut from 7pm Tuesday 6 October until early December 2026, and a weekend closure of Old Pacific Highway from 7pm Friday 23 October to 6am Monday 26 October.

There is no event parking at the Red Hot Summer Tour on Coolangatta Beach on Sunday 1 November, so the organisers want you to take public transport or a rideshare. Gates open at 12:30pm and the headline act, Australian Crawl, plays from 8:15pm to 9:30pm. The organisers’ tour page lists the Coolangatta show as sold out as of 17 October.

Gold Coast Lifeguard Patrol Times 2026: 8am to 5pm Year Round at Most Towers, Summer-Only Towers Start in November (QLD)

Most Gold Coast lifeguard towers are patrolled between 8am and 5pm every day all year round, but a set of towers only open for part of the year. In mid-October the towers that open “every day from September to April” are on, while those that start “between November and April” are not on that schedule yet, although the City also lists them as patrolled during school holidays. Always swim between the red and yellow flags, and if there are no flags, do not swim.

Kirra Beach Parking: Two Free Roughton Park Car Parks, 24 Hours, 150 to 199 Spaces Each (Coolangatta, Gold Coast, QLD)

Parking at both Roughton Park car parks beside Kirra Beach is free. The City of Gold Coast says there is no charge to park at either one, and that parking is available 24 hours a day. Free Council Parking in Coolangatta and Tugun: Chalk & Lanham Street Car Park and Bielby Street Car Park (Gold Coast, QLD)

Both of the City of Gold Coast’s small car parks at the southern end of the coast are free: the Chalk & Lanham Street car park in Coolangatta and the Bielby Street car park in Tugun Village. Bielby Street has no time limits and is open 24/7, while Chalk & Lanham Street mixes time-restricted and unrestricted bays, so you need to read the signs.

Gold Coast Airport gives you the first 10 minutes of short term parking free, then charges $10 for up to half an hour. For longer stays the drive-up rates run from $28 a day in the Budget car park to $75 a day in the Premium car park.
