Four races run on Noosa Parade in Noosa Heads on the afternoon of Saturday 31 October 2026, starting with the women’s GWM Australian Open Criterium at 2:15pm and finishing with the ASICS Noosa Bolt 5km at 5:15pm. Noosa Parade, from Noosa Drive to Ravenwood Drive, is closed to traffic from 12:00pm to 6:00pm that day, according to the organisers’ road closure schedule.

The Noosa Triathlon organisers call the afternoon Super Saturday. It is part of the festival that leads up to the Garmin Noosa Triathlon on Sunday 1 November. This guide uses the organisers’ Super Saturday page and event schedule, checked on Tuesday 27 October. The organisers say times are subject to change. Times are Queensland time, with no daylight saving. For Sunday’s race, see our race day times guide and our road closures, parking and shuttle bus guide.

What time is each Super Saturday race?

Time Race Length Where
2:15pm GWM Australian Open Criterium, women 30 minutes plus 3 laps Noosa Parade, Noosa Heads

4:00pm GWM Australian Open Criterium, men 40 minutes plus 3 laps Noosa Parade, Noosa Heads
5:15pm ASICS Noosa Bolt 5 km, 4-lap course Noosa Parade, Noosa Heads

The organisers describe the criterium course as the “hot dog” circuit along Noosa Parade. Presentations for the criteriums and the Bolt start straight after each race finishes, on Noosa Parade. The Celebrity Triathlon is described as a family event that can be watched from the grandstands, where the 2026 Celebrity Trophy is decided. The page does not list which celebrities are taking part.

Who can race, and what are the prizes?

The criteriums are for licensed riders: the organisers say cyclists must hold an Under 19, Under 23 or Elite licence, and all must be A Grade graded. The ASICS Bolt is for runners aged 15 or over on race day, with qualifying times of under 16 minutes for open men and under 18 minutes for open women over 5 km. Prize money is in Australian dollars, excluding GST.

Place Criterium, women Criterium, men ASICS Bolt (men and women equal)

2nd $3,000 $3,000 $1800

The women’s criterium also offers a $200 pre-paid Visa gift card for a prime, and the men’s offers two $200 gift cards for primes. The Bolt course was certified in October 2022, according to the page.

What happens in the morning?

Two junior and community races start at Chaplin Park in Noosaville before the afternoon, and neither is on Noosa Parade.

Race Start Distance Check-in
Noosa Superkidz Triathlon 7:30am Ages 7 to 10: 100 m swim, 2 km ride, 500 m run. Ages 11 to 13: 200 m swim, 4 km ride, 900 m run 6:00am to 7:15am
Tingirana Noosa Special Triathlon About 8:15am, once all Superkidz have started the run 100 m swim, 3 km ride, 500 m run 6:30am to 7:30am

The organisers say to reach Chaplin Park by the footbridge beside the Noosa Yacht and Rowing Club, with parking in the Gympie Terrace precinct. Gympie Terrace is on the closure list until 10:00am on Saturday, so allow for that if you are driving. No times or placings are recorded for Superkidz, and all children get a singlet and a finisher’s medal, according to the organisers. The Special Triathlon is for people with special needs. The schedule lists a stop, drop and go point at the Noosa Yacht and Rowing Club car park from 5:00am to 10:00am.

How do I get there and where do I park?

The organisers say parking close to the event area is limited, because transition is in one of the main parking areas of Noosa, and they ask visitors to allow plenty of time. There are three designated all-day parking areas, signed with blue parking signs, and event crew or volunteers direct drivers to them from Saturday afternoon onwards. Follow the signs from Noosa Heads and David Low Way. The three areas are shown on the parking, spectators and bus map, and standard parking restrictions apply there.

If you would rather not drive, the courtesy shuttle bus runs on Saturday from 6:00am to 7:00pm from Noosa Junction station, and the Friday and Saturday service also calls at Sunshine Beach Anglican Church, according to the organisers. The organisers’ Getting There page also says Sun buses stop within 500 metres of the venue and points to the Translink journey planner. Noosa Ferry runs early morning express services from Noosaville to the Sofitel Jetty on Hastings Street, so it suits the morning races more than the afternoon. Check the ferry company for times and bookings.

If you are travelling on Saturday for the Sunday triathlon as well, keep in mind that the larger road closures begin at 4:00am on Sunday. The shuttle timetable and the full list of Sunday closures are in our road closures and shuttle guide.

What else is open on Saturday?

The Noosa Sport and Lifestyle Expo is in Noosa Woods, at the end of the Hastings Street precinct. Its opening times are 8:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday 31 October, and the exhibitor list includes Garmin, Canyon, Speedo and 2XU. Garmin Noosa Triathlon check-in is at the Event Village, Noosa Woods, from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Bike racking for the Sunday race is at Noosa Heads Lions Park from 10:00am to 4:30pm, with transition tours at 11:00am and 2:00pm, and live music from Anna and Jordan at the Event Village from 10:00am to 1:00pm.
