The Garmin Noosa Triathlon starts at 6:15am on Sunday 1 November 2026 with the elite men at Noosa Heads Main Beach, and every competitor must be finished by 2:15pm. The race is a 1.5 km swim, a 40 km bike ride and a 10 km run, and it is the final day of a five-day festival that runs from Wednesday 28 October to Sunday 1 November.
The times below come from the organisers’ event schedule, Noosa Triathlon event page and Race Day Info page, read on Monday 26 October. The organisers say the schedule is subject to change. Times are Queensland time, which has no daylight saving. For roads, parking and shuttle buses, see our getting there and road closures guide.

What are the cut-off times?
The organisers set cut-offs by time of day, based on the predicted last starter, and say the Race Director can also cut off an athlete at any time for medical, logistical or rule reasons.
| Leg | Cut-off |
|---|---|
| Swim | Must be complete by 10:50am; remaining team cyclists are sent out by 10:55am |
| Bike, first early turnaround | 11:38am at the 14 km mark |
| Bike, second early turnaround | 11:45am at the 16.2 km mark |
| Bike, hard cut-off point | 11:57am at the 20 km mark |
| Bike, finished | Must be complete by 1:00pm |
| Run, last runners sent out | 1:05pm |
| Run, footpath | After 1:38pm, runners still on course may be asked to move onto the footpath so roads can reopen on schedule |
| Everyone finished | 2:15pm |
Athletes turned back at an early turnaround are recorded as a DNF (did not finish). If a cut-off is a worry, the organisers ask you to call the event hotline on 1300 761 384. They also reserve the right to announce new cut-offs if a leg is changed for contingency reasons.
What is the course?
The organisers describe the swim as a 1,500 metre oblong in Laguna Bay off Noosa Main Beach, anticlockwise, with the first turn buoy at 610 metres and three left-hand turns before returning to shore. The bike is a 40 km out and back into the Noosa hinterland, with a 2 km climb called the Garmin Hill Climb 10 km into the ride. The run is 10 km on flat roads along Noosa Parade, with five aid stations, finishing on the blue carpet. Transition is on the grass of Noosa Heads Lions Park, split into an individual area and a team area.

Where can I watch?
The organisers’ pages do not name official viewing areas in the text, but they give the points where things happen:
- The swim starts from Noosa Heads Main Beach from 6:15am.
- The run uses Noosa Parade, which is closed to traffic from 4:00am to 3:00pm (Noosa Drive to Witta Circuit) according to the official road closure schedule.
- Transition and the bike collection point are at Noosa Heads Lions Park.
- The presentation ceremony is at 4:00pm at the Event Village, Noosa Woods, Hastings Street, according to the schedule. The pages we read do not say exactly where the finish line is, so check the map.
- The parking, spectators and bus map PDF marks “spectator viewing” with a legend symbol; open the map to see where.
Parking near the venue is limited, because transition is in one of the main parking areas of Noosa. The organisers run courtesy shuttle buses from Noosa Junction from 4:00am on Sunday, and from Sunshine Beach and the AFL grounds on Weyba Road. The full list is in our road closures and shuttle guide.

What do competitors need to know about race morning?
The Race Day Info page covers the basics. Gear bags are compulsory, because bags cannot be stored in transition, and the bag drop is in the Noosa Bus Stop car park across the road from transition. The Race Day Info page says gear drop is open from 5:00am to 2:00pm, while the event schedule lists 4:45am to 3:00pm, so allow for the longer window if you are arriving early. Any gear left behind is held at Information until 3:00pm.
Timing bands go on the left ankle: the organisers say no band means no time, and a lost band costs $150. In a relay, all three team members wear the band in turn, and the cyclist must have it secured on their left ankle before leaving transition. The event’s photo partner is Sportograf, so keep your bib number visible on the front of your body and helmet.
Check-in is at the Event Village, Noosa Woods (Friday 30 October 9:00am to 7:00pm, Saturday 31 October 8:00am to 4:00pm), and a team needs only one member to attend on behalf of the team. The individual race is listed as sold out on the event page, with relay team entries still available.

Is there prize money?
Yes. The event page lists equal prize money for elite men and women: $15,600 for first, $9,100 for second and $5,200 for third, down to $620 for tenth (AUD, GST exclusive). Open category winners get $500 for first, $300 for second and $200 for third.
Who do I contact?
The organiser is the IRONMAN Group. The event line is 1300 761 384 and the email address is noosatri@theironmangroup.com.
