Parking at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is paid, with the first 15 minutes free; after that it costs $8.10 for up to an hour and tops out at $24.20 a day, according to the NSW Health parking site. The car park is open 24 hours, eligible patients and carers pay a concession rate, and buses 487, 925 and 926 stop at the hospital.
How much does parking at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital cost?
The NSW Health “NSW Public Hospital Parking, Services and Directions” site lists these public rates. We read them on 7 November 2026; the site does not show a date for the table, so check the signs and the ticket machines on arrival.
| Time in the car park | Public rate |
|---|---|
| 0 to 15 minutes | Free |
| 15 minutes to 1 hour | $8.10 |
| 1 to 2 hours | $12.00 |
| 2 to 3 hours | $16.20 |
| 3 to 4 hours | $18.90 |
| 4 to 5 hours | $21.70 |
| 5 hours or more | $24.20 |
| Maximum daily fee | $24.20 |
Reading the table, a 10-minute drop-off costs nothing, a 90-minute appointment costs $12.00, and a stay of two and a half hours costs $16.20. Those are our readings of the published table, not a quote from the hospital.

Where do I enter and where do I pay?
NSW Health says the hospital car park is entered from Eldridge Road. Its map for the hospital shows Claribel Street, Artegall Street and Gallipoli Street around the site, parking ticket machines near the Emergency entrance and the main entry, and a cashier at the main entry. The listing marks the car park as open 24 hours.
The hospital’s main phone number is (02) 9722 8000. The parking pages do not give a separate car park number.
Where can I drop someone off?
NSW Health says ten-minute drop-off zones are available in front of the Emergency Department entrance for dropping off and picking up patients, and its map also marks a pick-up and drop-off zone and a patient transport drop-off zone. The South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) says the spaces outside the car park are drop-off zones timed to a maximum of 30 minutes, and that fines apply if that time is exceeded. The two pages give different time limits (10 minutes and 30 minutes), and the SWSLHD page was last updated in 2017.

What about accessible parking?
NSW Health says designated disabled parking is available close to the main entrance and the Emergency Department. SWSLHD says the hospital has a number of accessible parking spaces for people displaying a current Mobility Parking Scheme permit, and repeats that parking within the car park incurs a fee. It also says that if you visit regularly and have difficulty meeting the parking costs, you can speak to the Patient Liaison Officer.
Who gets the concession rate, and how do I claim it?
NSW Health says reduced parking fees are available to eligible patients and carers at every NSW public hospital where fees apply. For Bankstown-Lidcombe its concession-only rates are:
| Stay | Concession rate |
|---|---|
| 0 to 3 hours | Free |
| Between 3 and 24 hours | $7.20 |
| 3-day ticket | $14.40 |
| 7-day ticket | $28.80 |
The state-wide rules we read on the Canterbury Hospital page of the same site list these groups as eligible: patients and carers who need treatment over a period of time, those attending more than twice a week, people facing financial hardship, holders of a Mobility Parking Scheme permit, Gold Veterans Affairs Card holders, Pensioner Concession Card or Health Care Card holders, ongoing cancer treatment patients, cardiac rehabilitation and health promotion class attendees, and daily dressing outpatients. To claim the rate, go to the hospital’s administrative point before you exit the car park and present your parking ticket, photo identification and concession card. The discount does not apply to metered street parking or pre-paid parking.
For concession holders the first three hours are free. Our Canterbury Hospital parking guide covers the same state-wide rules for the other hospital in the city.

Which buses and trains go to the hospital?
NSW Health lists bus routes 487, 925 and 926. It says buses leave from the hospital on Eldridge Road, opposite the Private Medical Centre, and on Artegall Street near the corner of Eldridge Road, and that timetables are at the front of the hospital near the ticket machine and at the bus stops. For the current timetable use transportnsw.info or call 131 500.
The nearest stations are Bankstown and Revesby, according to NSW Health. The listing does not give a walking time. By our own calculation from OpenStreetMap positions, the hospital is about 2.2 kilometres in a straight line from Bankstown station and about the same from Revesby station; this is not an official figure and the walk is longer than a straight line.
| Option | What the official pages say |
|---|---|
| Bus | Routes 487, 925, 926; stops on Eldridge Road and Artegall Street |
| Train | Bankstown and Revesby are the nearest stations |
| Taxi | Free phones in the main foyer near the kiosk and in the Emergency waiting room |
| Community transport | South West Community Transport, (02) 9791 9211 |

Are there taxi and community transport options?
NSW Health says a free phone service for calling taxis is available inside the hospital, with phones in the main foyer near the kiosk and in the waiting room of the Emergency Department. It also links to the NSW Taxi Transport Subsidy Scheme. For the frail aged, younger people with disabilities, carers and their families, the South West Community Transport service takes bookings and assessments on (02) 9791 9211. SWSLHD’s disabilities page gives the same number for the Bankstown-Canterbury service.
What else does the disability services page say?
The South Western Sydney Local Health District disability page, last updated on 22 May 2017, says accessible toilets are available on every floor of the hospital and registered guide dogs are welcome. It says an interpreter can be arranged through the Health Language Service, and Auslan interpreters are available on request for people with a hearing impairment. Because the page is old, the hospital is the place to confirm current arrangements.
What do the pages say about phone numbers and contacts?
The South Western Sydney Local Health District contact page gives the hospital’s street address as Eldridge Road, Bankstown NSW 2200, and the main phone number as +61 2 9722 8000. Community transport bookings and assessments are on (02) 9791 9211. For taxis, the hospital has free phones in the main foyer near the kiosk and in the Emergency Department waiting room. The district page also says that if you visit regularly and have difficulty meeting parking costs, you can speak to the Patient Liaison Officer.
