The first 15 minutes at Redland Hospital are free, a stay of up to six hours costs no more than $11.00, and the top rate for a stay of 6 to 24 hours is $13.00.

This guide uses the Redland Hospital parking and public transport page from Metro South Health, which says it was last updated in May 2026. The prices are as of November 2026. Construction is under way at the hospital, so the car park layout can change; follow the signs on the day.

How much does it cost to park at Redland Hospital?

Metro South Health lists these parking costs. Most short visits fall in the first three rows.

Time Cost
0 to 15 minutes Free
15 to 60 minutes $3.00
1 to 2 hours $5.00
2 to 3 hours $7.00
3 to 4 hours $9.00
4 to 6 hours $11.00
6 to 24 hours $13.00
Motorbike flat rate $5.00

The free first 15 minutes is useful for a quick drop-off of a prescription or a bag. The page does not say whether the free period is counted from the ticket you take on arrival, so keep to the time and check your ticket at the pay station.

How do I pay?

You can pay by cash or credit card at one of the pay stations, using the ticket you get when you arrive. You can also pay by credit card at the boom gate when you leave. Metro South Health lists the pay stations:

  • in the P1 main car park
  • inside the Health Service Centre
  • outside the main hospital entrance
  • outside the women and children’s entrance
  • outside the mental health entrance
  • outside the Mater Private Hospital

Which car park should I use?

There are four car parks close to different parts of the hospital.

Car park Closest to Note on the page
P1 Main hospital Height limit 2.3 metres; accessible spaces for people with disability
P2 Emergency department, Women’s and Children’s services, and outpatients Currently closed for construction works; pick up and drop off zones remain open
P3 Mental health services and the Redland Health Service Centre No height restriction
P4 Redland Residential Care No height restriction

Metro South Health says it is building new facilities as part of the Redland Hospital Expansion, so work is ongoing around the hospital, and visitors should look out for the signs and follow directions. The page lists P2 as the car park for the emergency department, Women’s and Children’s services and outpatients, and says it is closed, so check the parking map to see where to park for those services today. The page also says the internal car park route to the pick up and drop off zones for the Women’s and Children’s Unit and Allied Health has changed, and tells visitors to follow the new directions on the parking map. Access to the Mater Private Hospital Redland car park is open. The hospital does not have charging stations for electric vehicles.

Where can I drop someone off?

The pick up and drop off areas are at the emergency department and the main hospital building. You reach both via Weippin Street, and the spaces have a 2 minute time limit.

There is also some street parking on Weippin Street. Metro South Health says to read the parking signs for time limits, and the page gives no prices or limits for the street spaces.

Is there cheaper parking for people who visit often?

Metro South Health says you may be eligible for concessional parking if you are:

  • going to hospital at least twice a week for more than 2 weeks in a row
  • in hospital for 14 days or more in a row
  • over 67 and getting an Age Pension
  • caring for a patient and getting a Carer Payment
  • dealing with financial problems or have special needs

The page also says you can get cheaper parking if you are a patient or carer at Redland Residential Care, and to contact the car park team for more information.

How do I apply for concessional parking?

Fill in the Concessional Parking Application Form (a PDF on the Metro South Health page). If you are staying in hospital, take it to the reception area in your ward. If you are an outpatient, take it to your appointment.

After approval, you need to bring the approved form and your parking ticket to reception every time you visit the hospital. The staff validate your ticket so that you pay the discounted rate when you leave. If you forget the form, the page does not say what happens, so ask at reception.

Can I get to Redland Hospital by bus or train?

You can plan your trip with the Translink journey planner or by calling 13 12 30. For TTY, call 13 36 77 and ask for 13 12 30.

Mode What the page says
Bus The closest bus station is in front of the hospital on Weippin Street. Bus route 271 travels from Cleveland station to Redland Hospital
Train The closest railway station is Cleveland, about 3 km from the hospital; take bus 271 from the station to the hospital

The page gives no bus 271 timetable. Check it in the journey planner for the day you travel, especially for early appointments.

Where are the maps?

Metro South Health publishes a hospital map (a PDF) that shows building entrances, car parks, drop off areas, pay stations and cafes. A second PDF, the ground level and level one map, shows what is on each level of the hospital. Both are linked from the Redland Hospital parking and public transport page. Because the P2 route and drop-off paths have changed, the current parking map is the best thing to open before you drive in.

Near the hospital you will also find the Redland City Council offices in Cleveland, shown below, which is a separate site with its own parking rules that we have not covered.
