The airport’s own public bus services page and Translink’s Sunshine Coast travel page are the sources for the bus details.

Where does bus 622 go?

Translink’s timetable calls route 622 “Maroochydore to Noosa Junction via Airport, Coolum”. Translink says it departs the airport every hour. Going north from the airport the timetable lists stops including Mudjimba, Marcoola, Mount Coolum, Coolum Beach, Peregian Springs, Noosa Civic Shopping Centre and Noosa Junction station. Going south it calls at Pacific Paradise and several Maroochydore stops before Maroochydore station.

These example trips are from the route 622 timetable for Wednesday 21 October 2026. Times can differ by day, so check the journey planner for the day you travel.

Trip on Wednesday 21 October Leaves the airport Arrives
To Maroochydore station 8:21 am 8:40 am (drop-off only)
To Maroochydore station 10:21 am 10:39 am
To Noosa Civic Shopping Centre 9:30 am 10:32 am
To Noosa Junction station 9:30 am 10:43 am (drop-off only)

Using the same timetable, the trip that leaves the airport at 8:30 am on Wednesday 21 October reaches the stop at Marcoola Esplanade, at the Marcoola surf life saving club, at 8:37 am, and the David Low Way stop at the Coolum Hotel in Coolum Beach at 8:56 am. Coming the other way, the trip that leaves Noosa Junction station at 7:20 am reaches the airport at 8:21 am, and the trip that leaves at 9:20 am reaches it at 10:21 am. On the trips shown, Translink marks every arrival at the final stop, Maroochydore station or Noosa Junction station, as drop-off only, which means those trips end there.

How do I pay for the bus?

Translink says you pay 50 cents per journey using contactless payments or a go card. You can use a Visa or Mastercard card, or a smart device linked to a digital wallet, and you tap on at the start of the trip and tap off at the end. Translink says to use one card or device for each person travelling.

If you plan more than three journeys in a day, Translink suggests a go explore card, which gives unlimited travel on Sunshine Coast buses for $1.50 a day. The airport says go explore cards are sold at its Southern Arrivals café, Timber and Tide, and that children under 5 travel free. A go card can be bought and topped up at retailers, at major bus interchanges and train stations, online, or by calling Translink on 13 12 30. Visitors can return a go card to selected retailers or Queensland Rail ticket offices at the end of their stay for a full refund, according to Translink.

Can I get from the airport to Brisbane or Caloundra by bus?

Translink says that at Maroochydore bus station you can connect to other urban routes, including route 600, which it describes as a high frequency service along the coast between Maroochydore and Caloundra. For Brisbane, Translink’s Sunshine Coast page says to plan the journey with regular departures from Nambour and Landsborough stations, plus up to two trains a day from Gympie North. The airport’s bus page does not list a direct bus to Brisbane or to those stations.

Before you plan a train trip south, check for closures: Translink has no trains running between Caboolture and Gympie North from Monday 26 to Wednesday 28 October 2026, as set out in our Sunshine Coast line railbus guide.

How do the shuttle, taxi and rideshare work?

The shuttle services are operated by Con-X-ion Airport Transfers. Its booking desk is inside the terminal in Southern Arrivals, and its vehicles depart from the coach parking bays behind the taxi rank. The call centre is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on 1300 856 531, or +61 7 5556 9888 from overseas.

Suncoast Cabs operates the taxis. The rank is in front of the arrivals hall, and a $4.32 (+GST) pick-up fee applies to all taxi trips. To book, call 131 008.

For rideshare, you book in your chosen rideshare app and the driver finds you through the app. The pick-up and drop-off point is in the Short Term car park, and the same $4.32 (+GST) pick-up fee applies to all rideshare trips.

What about a private transfer?

The airport lists a long set of private transfer operators, which it describes as companies offering chauffeured transport. Their vehicles park close to Arrivals: cross the road at the pedestrian crossing and the private transfer parking area is just behind the taxi rank. The airport’s page gives each operator’s contact details, so book with the operator before you arrive.

Which option suits which trip?

  • One traveller heading to Maroochydore, Coolum or Noosa: the 622 at 50 cents a journey, if the hourly timetable fits your flight.
  • A late or early arrival: look up the first and last route 622 departures for your day in the journey planner before you plan your flight around the bus.
  • A group or luggage: the shuttle, taxi or rideshare, each with a published pick-up point; taxis and rideshare each add the $4.32 (+GST) fee.
  • Someone collecting you: use the dedicated pick-up and drop-off zone at the front of the terminal.

Translink asks passengers to check service updates regularly and to call 13 12 30, which it says is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for public transport information.
