Your ticket to Moët & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes Day at Royal Randwick on Saturday 24 October 2026 includes travel on Sydney trains, metro, buses, light rail and ferries, according to the Australian Turf Club and Transport for NSW. Free parking is also on offer in the on-site Infield car park for General Admission guests, but City Circle trackwork and clearways around the course change how some trips work that day.
The Australian Turf Club’s home page says the TAB Everest has already been run this carnival, so this guide is for the Saturday 24 October raceday. Public gates open at 11:15am, the first race is at 12:25pm and the last race is at 5:55pm. All times are Sydney time. This guide uses the official Transport for NSW event page and the Australian Turf Club raceday page, as read on Monday 19 October.
Does my race ticket cover public transport?
Yes. Transport for NSW says valid pre-purchased tickets to Everest Carnival 2026 at Royal Randwick between 19 September and 7 November include travel to and from the racecourse. Show your event ticket or ATC Members card to transport staff when you board. The services covered are:
- Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services between Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog)
- Sydney Metro
- Sydney metropolitan and outer metropolitan buses
- Sydney, Parramatta and Newcastle Light Rail
- Sydney and Newcastle Ferries

Keep the ticket for your return journey. Without it you need to pay with an Opal card or contactless payment, because you must have a valid ticket on public transport. Your event ticket is valid on the listed modes until 4am the following day. The airport station access fee is not covered: Transport for NSW says an additional fee applies for travel to or from the Domestic and International airport stations. Our guide to Opal fares and how to pay explains how Opal works if you need it.
How do I get there by light rail?
Transport for NSW lists light rail as the main way in. The L2 Randwick Line runs from Circular Quay via Central (Chalmers Street) to Randwick, and the L3 Kingsford Line runs from Circular Quay via Central (Chalmers Street) to Juniors Kingsford. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily.
- Royal Randwick stop (L2): on Alison Road, just across from the racecourse.
- Kensington stop (L3): on Anzac Parade, a short walk from the racecourse entry on Ascot Street.
- From 7am to 7pm, additional L2 and L3 services run between Circular Quay and Randwick or Juniors Kingsford, because of City Circle trackwork.
- Additional light rail services also run between Central Chalmers Street and Royal Randwick to help people get to and from the event.

From the L1 Dulwich Hill Line, change at Central for the L2 or L3. Transport for NSW says the L1 runs between Central (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West from 5am to 1am daily. From Parramatta, the L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line connects to trains to Central, but L4 services do not run between Westmead and Parramatta Square from 5pm to 11:30pm on Saturday 24 October, because of the Parramatta Lanes Festival. Buses replace them, and light rail runs between Carlingford and Parramatta Square only during those hours.

What trackwork affects trains on 24 October?
Transport for NSW says planned trackwork on Saturday 24 October may affect how you travel to and from the event. The main points on the event page are:
| Line or area | What Transport for NSW says |
|---|---|
| City Circle | Trains do not run on the City Circle, or between Central and Wynyard. Use T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line trains, metro, light rail or local buses. |
| Inner West (T2, T3) | Buses replace Inner West trains between Strathfield and Central. Express trains continue to run. |
| T1 North Shore | Changed timetable between Hornsby and Wynyard only. From 7:30am to 8pm, buses replace trains between Hornsby and Gordon. |
| T8 Airport & South | Most trains run to a changed timetable. Change at Revesby for trains to Central via the Airport, or at Sydenham for metro to the City. T8 trains do not run between Sydenham and the City. |
| T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra | Extra trains run between Hurstville and Bondi Junction. All Cronulla and some Waterfall trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. |
| Late night | From 11:40pm to 5:30am Sunday, buses replace trains between Olympic Park and Central on several lines. Replacement buses do not leave from Lidcombe. |
Transport for NSW says to plan with the Trip Planner and to check travel alerts before you leave. Sydney Metro services keep running: the M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line runs between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham, and you change at Central for light rail to Royal Randwick or Kensington. The closest station to the racecourse is Central, according to the same page.

Which buses and ferries can I use?
Transport for NSW says regular buses between the city and the eastern suburbs via Anzac Parade and Alison Road stop near the racecourse, naming routes 339, 373, 374, 375 and 396. The Australian Turf Club’s list is 339, 373, 374, 376 and 377. The two lists differ, so check your route in the Trip Planner. One stop is closed: from 9am to 7:30pm on route 339, Darley Road opposite Randwick TAFE (Stop ID 203144) is closed for services towards Clovelly. Transport for NSW says to use Centennial Park Main Gate, Darley Road (Stop ID 203145) instead.
For ferries, take any service to Circular Quay and change for light rail to Royal Randwick or Kensington.
Where can I park, and where are the clearways?
Free parking is available in the Infield car park on site, with entry via High Street opposite UNSW. The Australian Turf Club says free Infield parking is for General Admission guests and that Members can use the multi-level car park, which Transport for NSW says is entered via Ascot Street and needs a members car park permit on display. Accessible parking is in the Infield car park, and a disabled parking sticker must be displayed.

| Special event clearway | Times |
|---|---|
| Darley Road between Alison Road and the Grand Drive roundabout (western side) | 4am to 7pm |
| Ascot Street between Doncaster Avenue and the roundabout at the racecourse entry (both sides) | 8am to 7pm |
| High Street between UNSW Gate Two Avenue and Anzac Parade (southern side) | 3pm to 7pm |
Transport for NSW says clearways are strict no-parking zones for all vehicle types and apply even to local residents and Mobility Scheme Permit holders. Vehicles left in a clearway will be towed and a fee applies. If your vehicle is towed, search your registration on the Find My Car website or call 132 701. Locations are shown on Live Traffic NSW. Traffic around the racecourse will be heavier than usual, and the page says to allow extra travel time.
Where do taxis and rideshare drop off?
Taxis use the Ascot Street entrance, where there is a secure taxi rank for drop-offs and pick-ups. Taxis, rideshare and hire cars are not permitted to stop on Alison Road, Ascot Street or Doncaster Avenue. For rideshare, Transport for NSW lists two points: Darley Road between Alison Road and the Darley Road roundabout (western side), and the bus plaza at the front of the racecourse on Alison Road, reached by the slip road from Alison Road or Darley Road. The Australian Turf Club says there is a new dedicated Uber pick-up and drop-off zone within the Alison Road Busway precinct.
From 3pm to 8pm, rideshare pick-ups on sections of Alison Road, Ascot Street, Darley Road and Doncaster Avenue are restricted. Transport for NSW says to choose a pick-up location away from the racecourse during those hours.
What does a ticket cost and what is on after the last race?
| Ticket | Price |
|---|---|
| Adult, General Admission (online) | $45 per person |
| Party Plus, group of 10 or more (online only) | $35 per person |
| Pensioner and concession, General Admission (at the gate) | $25 per person |
| Trackside Reserve | $99 per person |
The Australian Turf Club lists Priority Members entry at 10:30am, Members gates at 10:45am and public gates at 11:15am. Ten minutes after the last race, Kylie Fisher performs at the Theatre of the Horse (mounting yard), and entry is free for all racegoers. The raceday fashion theme is All That Glitters. For hospitality enquiries, the club lists 1300 729 668.
Is there a map?
Transport for NSW links a Randwick Racecourse transport map (PDF) from its event page. The file name carries the date 15OCT25, so check the signs on the day.
