If you hold a ticket to the Rugby League World Cup match between Australia and Fiji at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday 25 October 2026, travel is free on Queensland Rail City network trains and Brisbane City Council buses from 3:05pm, and there is no public parking near the stadium. Kick-off is at 7:05pm, and free shuttle buses run from Brisbane City, Carindale, Chermside, Eight Mile Plains/Mt Gravatt and The Gap from 5:05pm.

This guide uses Translink’s event transport page for the match, the Suncorp Stadium event page and the stadium’s Getting Here and FAQ pages, all checked on Monday 19 October 2026.

What time should I arrive?

The two official sources give different gate times. Translink lists gates opening at 6:00pm, while Suncorp Stadium’s event page lists gates open at 4:45pm. Both agree on a 7:05pm kick-off. Because the stadium runs the venue, treat 4:45pm as its listed time and check your ticket and the stadium’s social media on the day.

Is public transport free with a ticket?

Yes, with a condition. Translink says that if you have a pre-purchased event ticket or a stadium membership card, you can travel free to and from Suncorp Stadium on all regular network-wide Brisbane City Council buses and Citytrains. Brisbane City Council ferries, the G: and Airtrain services are excluded. Free travel begins 4 hours before and ends 4 hours after the event. You need your ticket to ride: the stadium says to show it to rail and bus staff as you board, and that your confirmation email works if you have not collected your ticket.

On tickets, the sources differ. The stadium’s event page says Ticketmaster is the authorised ticketing agent for Rugby League World Cup 2026 events at Suncorp Stadium, while Translink’s page and the stadium’s FAQ mention Ticketek. If you are not sure whether your confirmation email counts, ask the stadium on (07) 3331 5000 before the day.

How do I get there by train?

Milton station is 500m from the stadium via a pedestrian walkway to Southern Plaza. Roma Street station and Roma Street busway station are 1.14km away. Translink says to check back closer to game day to see whether extra trains are running.

The same weekend, trains on the Caboolture, Redcliffe Peninsula, Shorncliffe and Sunshine Coast lines are replaced by timetabled railbuses from Saturday 24 to Sunday 25 October. Translink’s event page links to that closure and asks you to plan your travel. Our weekend track closure guide lists the affected stations. If you are coming from the north, check the closure notice and the journey planner before you leave.

Where do the shuttle buses run from?

With a pre-purchased game ticket you can travel free on the event shuttle buses, which start at 5:05pm. Translink lists these locations and times:

Shuttle from Buses to the game Return pick-up, from one hour after the game ends
Brisbane City At regular intervals until 6:55pm Maroon zone
Carindale At regular intervals until 6:35pm Blue zone
Chermside At regular intervals until 6:35pm Green zone
Eight Mile Plains/Mt Gravatt At regular intervals until 6:35pm Yellow zone
The Gap At regular intervals until 6:35pm Given Terrace shuttle stop

Buses from the city, Carindale, Eight Mile Plains and Chermside use the Southern Plaza shuttle bus station. The shuttle to The Gap leaves from the Given Terrace shuttle bus bays. Regular buses also stop on Caxton Street, Given Terrace and Milton Road, and Translink says to check for bus diversions on Caxton Street.

Can I park near Suncorp Stadium?

No. The stadium says it is a public transport destination, there are no public car parks available on event days, and 15-minute parking limits apply across the Lang Park Traffic Area, which it describes as 1.5km around the venue. On-the-spot fines are issued. For parking restriction details, the stadium points to Brisbane City Council. The stadium lists a Traffic Management Plan starting at 5:00pm, and says road closures will be in place before, during and after major events, so follow directions from Queensland Police and traffic controllers.

For taxis, there is a rank outside Sports House on Castlemaine Street at the north-west corner of the grounds, near Caxton Street, and a drop-off and pick-up zone for passengers with disability on the Northern Plaza off Caxton Street. The stadium also lists rideshare pick-up zones and a rideshare geofence from 8:30pm to 9:50pm. There are bike racks on the North and South Plazas.

What can I bring in?

  • Bags: A3 size or under, with cloaking available on the Southern Plaza. The stadium encourages leaving bags at home to speed up entry.
  • Food and drink: homemade food in a non-glass container, water in a factory-sealed bottle up to 1.25L, and tea or coffee in a thermos. Alcohol and commercial food and drinks cannot be brought in. Hard eskies are not permitted; soft eskies of A3 size or smaller are.
  • Payments: the stadium is cashless.
  • Weather: umbrellas can be carried but not raised inside. Aerosol sunscreen is not allowed; pump-pack sunscreen is.
  • Flags: no larger than 1.5m by 1.5m with poles no thicker than 2cm, and no offensive or political messages.
  • Leaving and returning: pass-outs are issued at the Northern and Southern Plaza ends, and you need your ticket to be scanned out and in again.

The stadium notes that permitted items can change at the request of the hirer, so check the stadium’s Conditions of Entry page before you go.

The stadium says this match is part of an internationally sanctioned tournament, so it is not a 2026 Stadium Members included event. For public transport help, Translink is on 13 12 30, 24 hours a day.
