Tamborine-Oxenford Road has lane reductions at five sites in the Gold Coast City area, from Upper Coomera to Wongawallan, with the last notice running until Friday 18 December 2026. Two of the five are night works, so the main change for drivers is slower travel at night as well as by day.

This brief uses the QLDTraffic roadworks notices read on 20 October 2026. QLDTraffic calls the work “restoration works” and does not say which agency set it up or what it repairs, so this guide does not either. Times are the notice windows, and traffic control may apply only on some days within them. Check QLDTraffic before you drive.

Where are the five work sites?

About 800 metres south of Hayes Road, near the Eagle Heights Hotel Wongawallan Sunday 18 October to Friday 20 November 2026 From Sunday 7pm to Friday 5am

QLDTraffic lists all five as lane or lanes reduced in both directions, with delays expected during active hours. The Eagle Heights Hotel notice also lists a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h. The notices for Upper Coomera, Tamborine Creek Bridge and Michigam Drive say to call 1800 977 222 or email the contractor’s community address for traffic alerts and project updates, and the QLDTraffic text names Durack Civil in that address.

Which site is the newest?

The notice south of Hayes Road started at 7pm on Sunday 18 October and QLDTraffic updated it on 20 October. It runs from Sunday 7pm to Friday 5am each week until 5am on Friday 20 November. QLDTraffic gives the location as about 800 metres south of Hayes Road, near the Eagle Heights Hotel, and sets a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h. If you drive the road at night, allow extra time and keep to the posted limit.

What is on nearby Tamborine Mountain roads?

QLDTraffic lists three further notices on Tamborine Mountain, in the Scenic Rim Regional Council area. Only Long Road is part of Tamborine-Oxenford Road:

  • Tamborine Mountain Road, Tamborine, between Beaudesert-Beenleigh Road and Vonda Youngman Drive: road rehabilitation works at a reduced 40 km/h, until 6pm on Friday 23 October 2026.
  • Long Road (Tamborine-Oxenford Road), Tamborine Mountain, northbound towards Macdonnell Road: Scenic Rim Regional Council works, with all lanes affected northbound until 23 December 2026. QLDTraffic points to the council’s Gallery Walk Precinct page.
  • Goat Track, Tamborine Mountain Road, Witheren: a single-lane side track open to light vehicles, because a section was damaged in ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred. QLDTraffic says restoration works to restore two lanes are expected to start in the first half of 2027.

How long will it take me?

QLDTraffic does not give a delay time for these sites. It says “delays expected during active hours” for each of the five, and the Michigam Drive and Hayes Road notices apply overnight. Allow extra travel time and check QLDTraffic’s live map before you leave.
