The City of Gold Coast runs two free car parks in Palm Beach, and both limit your stay to 3 hours on weekdays. The Fifth Avenue & Cypress Terrace car park has a 3-hour limit from 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. The Palm Beach Parklands car park has a 3-hour limit from 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. Outside those times, the City says parking is unrestricted at both. Details on this page are as of October 2026, taken from the City’s car park pages.

Neither car park charges a fee. The City’s pages say “There is no charge to park in this carpark” for Fifth Avenue & Cypress Terrace, and the Palm Beach Parklands page says the same.

The City’s Fifth Avenue & Cypress Terrace page puts the car park on the southwest corner of Fifth Avenue and Cypress Terrace, with access via Fifth Avenue. Its car park page is the place to check the rules before you go. The Palm Beach Parklands page covers the other car park.

What does a 3-hour limit mean in practice?

It means you can park for up to 3 hours within the restricted window on a weekday, and you do not have to pay. Outside the window, the City says parking is unrestricted. For example, a weekday visit that starts at 5pm falls outside the Fifth Avenue & Cypress Terrace limit window, and a Saturday visit is outside it as well, because the limit applies from Monday to Friday. The City’s pages do not say how the limit is enforced or what the penalty is, so stay within it and follow the signs on site.

Can I park at Fifth Avenue during Feast on Fifth?

Do not count on it. Feast on Fifth runs from 4pm to 9pm on Saturday 17 October 2026. The organisers’ road closure letter says Fifth Avenue is closed between the Gold Coast Highway and Cypress Terrace from 10am to 11:59pm, and that car parks close from 9am. The letter does not name which car parks. The City’s page says access to the Fifth Avenue & Cypress Terrace car park is via Fifth Avenue, so check the signs and the City’s notices on the day before relying on it.

The organisers’ FAQ says there is limited car parking around the venue and side streets, and asks people to use public transport or ride-share where possible. See our Feast on Fifth guide for the closure times and rules. The organisers list an event hotline, 1300 855 270, which they say is for the event day and times only, and an email address, info@feastonfifth.com.au, for other questions. The Palm Beach Parklands car park is on the Gold Coast Highway, and the closure letter does not list it, though that does not confirm it is unaffected.

Are there accessible spaces?

Yes. The City lists accessible parking spaces at both car parks. To use one, you must display a valid disability parking permit, with the permit holder travelling in the vehicle. The City’s accessible parking page explains how to display a permit and which permits it accepts.

The City’s Palm Beach Parklands page links to information on the parklands and its dog exercise areas, so check there if you are heading to the parklands rather than the shops. For a paid car park in the next suburb, see our guide to Alex Black car park in Burleigh Heads, which charges $3.20 an hour between 9am and 7pm.
