Who pays less?

The district runs one concession scheme across its hospitals. Its rates took effect on 11 August 2025.

Ticket Concession rate
0 to 3 hours Free
Single visit, one entry and one exit $7.20
3 day ticket, multiple entries and exits $14.40
7 day ticket, multiple entries and exits $28.80

To be eligible you or the person you care for must be a patient who needs treatment over a period of time, or attend more than twice a week. The district then splits who needs a form.

  • No form needed: holders of a valid Mobility Parking Scheme permit, Pensioner Concession Card, Gold Veterans Affairs Card or Health Care Card collect the concession from Point Parking.
  • Form needed, signed by the Nursing Unit Manager or a social worker and shown at the parking booth: ongoing cancer treatment patients, people attending a course of treatment longer than one week, people attending more often than twice a week, cardiac rehabilitation education and exercise class attendees, daily dressing outpatients and Health Promotion education class attendees.
  • Financial hardship: patients and carers in hardship who do not meet those categories are also entitled to the concession.

The district defines a carer as a person who gives ongoing, unpaid support to a family member, neighbour or friend who needs help because of disability, terminal illness, chronic illness, mental illness or ageing. A paid employee, a volunteer, or someone caring as part of education or training is not a carer under that definition.

Can I get there by train?

The district says Blacktown Hospital is about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the train station, and points to Transport for NSW for trip planning.

Is there a taxi rank at the hospital?

No. The district says there are no taxi ranks on site. It lists Premier Taxis on 131 017 and Taxis Combined on 133 300, and says hospital reception has a free direct phone for priority and express taxi bookings. Pickups can be organised to the main entrance.

What does the hospital offer, and what else should I know?

The NSW Government lists Blacktown Hospital as open 24 hours at 18 Blacktown Road, Blacktown 2148, with wheelchair access, and gives the main switchboard as (02) 9881 8000. The hospital provides 24 hour emergency care, intensive and high dependency support, acute medical and surgical services, obstetrics, paediatrics, newborn care, community health services, mental health care and sub-acute rehabilitation. A downloadable facility and car parking map is linked from the NSW Government page.

For residents of the area, the City of Blacktown runs a Blacktown Medical Precinct resident parking permit scheme for people living within the precinct near the hospital; see our guide to Blacktown CBD car parks for the City’s other parking schemes. The district also notes that Western Sydney University parking permits are not transferable to the hospital’s staff or visitor parking.

For questions about parking, the district gives the email address WSLHD-ParkingatWSLHD@health.nsw.gov.au.
