Srila Prabhupada Castle in Keilor is holding a free Diwali Utsav on Sunday 15 November 2026, from 11am to 5pm. The Brimbank Events website lists the day as a celebration of “Krishna consciousness, devotion, culture and family fun”, and the organiser’s own registration page carries the same programme. Melbourne is on daylight saving time in November (AEDT), so all times are local times.
This brief is built from the Brimbank listing, the organiser’s registration page and the Castle’s website, all checked on Saturday 7 November 2026. They are short, and this guide says where they stop.

Do I need to register?
The Brimbank listing links to a registration page on the Castle’s own events site, titled “Goverdhan & Diwali Celebration”. That page offers a ticket called “Goverdhan & Diwali registration” marked “Free (Max. 30)”. Neither page says what the 30 refers to, and neither says whether you must register before you turn up. The listing says “All are welcome”. The registration page is on the organiser’s events page; for other questions the Castle gives the email info@srilaprabhupadacastle.com.au.
What is the venue?
The Castle’s FAQ says the property was historically known as Overnewton Castle, a heritage estate, and that it is now called Srila Prabhupada Castle. It says the castle continues to host weddings, celebrations, retreats, conferences and community events, and answers “Can anyone visit the castle?” with yes. The contact page lists Sunday 11am to 1pm as regular opening hours, and the rest of the week by appointment only.

Is there a connection to the Hare Krishna movement?
Yes. The Castle’s own pages describe it as a sanctuary dedicated to the teachings of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, and the Diwali listing opens with “Hare Krishna”. The Brimbank page states plainly that it is a day of Krishna consciousness, devotion and culture.

How do I get there and where do I park?
None of the three pages gives parking, public transport or road-closure information, so none is given here. The address is 51 Overnewton Road, Keilor.

What else is on in the Keilor area that week?
Brimbank’s events site also lists a Carers Seed Swap on Friday 13 November, 1pm to 2:30pm, at Carers Space, Keilor Downs Community Centre, 90 Taylors Road, Keilor Downs. For events in Sunshine and St Albans this season, see the Brimbank Christmas guide and the Recycle and Repair Day guide.
What is still unconfirmed?
- Parking, public transport and any road closures for 15 November.
- Whether registration is required, and what “Max. 30” means on the free ticket.
- The names of the food stalls, and the times of the items other than Govardhan Parikrama at 3:30pm and Grand Arati at 5pm.
- Wet-weather plans.
