Where do I park at PRACC?

PRACC’s FAQ describes the parking this way:

Where What PRACC says
Main car park Directly in front of the venue; the easiest access to the front entrance and Box Office
Civic Centre precinct Additional free parking, including near the Whittlesea Council offices and Civic North Building
Accessible bays Closest to the main entrance, reserved for vehicles displaying a valid disability permit; step-free access into the building
Cost Free (“hundreds of free car parks within walking distance”)

The FAQ also says parking can become busy during peak times or large-scale events, and recommends arriving early to find a space, especially for people who do not know the area. It adds that PRACC is easily accessible by train or bus, but does not name a station or route.

How early should I arrive?

PRACC recommends arriving at least 15 minutes before the event to allow time for parking, ticket scanning and finding your seat. If you arrive after a performance has started, you may be asked to wait until a suitable break or interval before being admitted to the theatre. PRACC says that in some cases late entry may not be permitted, depending on the type of performance.

What are the rules for wheelchairs, prams and children?

  • Wheelchairs and walking frames: when not in use, they cannot stay in theatre walkways or aisles during performances. Guests who prefer to stay in their wheelchair are welcome to, using accessible seating. If a wheelchair is not being used for seating, the team stores it nearby and returns it after the show.
  • Prams: not allowed in theatre aisles or walkways during performances; staff help find a place to store one.
  • Young children: for children’s performances, those aged 12 months and under can enter free without a ticket. For other events without age restrictions, children under 2 can also enter free and ticketless. In both cases they must sit on a parent’s or guardian’s lap, because no seat is provided.
  • Booster seats: a limited number are available for family performances, on a first-come, first-served basis; ask front-of-house staff on arrival.
  • Photography: commercial or flash photography is generally prohibited unless the performance approves it in advance.
