There is no parking at Optus Stadium on major event days, so the way in is Perth Stadium Station or an event bus. Public transport is included in your event ticket for three hours either side of the event, according to Transperth, and the event bus network runs for 45 minutes after the final siren.
The stadium is at 333 Victoria Park Drive, Burswood, and its precinct has a purpose-built train station and bus station. What you take depends on where you live and whether the event is on a weekday, because Transperth runs fewer event services before weekday events. This guide sets out the rules published by Optus Stadium and Transperth, as checked on Wednesday 21 October 2026. Services change by event, so use the JourneyPlanner for your own trip.

Can I park at Optus Stadium?
Not on major event days. Optus Stadium’s parking page says there is no parking available on major event days, and that its car parks are closed to the general public on those days. The stadium points to its What’s On page for the dates. For a non-major event day, the stadium refers visitors to its Getting Here page for parking options; this guide does not cover those.
Is public transport included in my ticket?
Yes. Transperth’s Optus Stadium page says transport to and from the stadium is included in your event ticket, and that events are joint ticketed, which means the cost of public transport is included for three hours either side of the event.
Which train do I take?
Perth Stadium Station has six platforms and two concourses. Yanchep and Fremantle Line passengers use the Western Concourse. Armadale, Thornlie-Cockburn and Mandurah Line trains and Perth-bound trains leave from the Eastern Concourse. Transperth says train services are planned for each event, so use the JourneyPlanner.
| Line | Getting there | Going home |
|---|---|---|
| Armadale | A train between Byford and Perth goes straight to Perth Stadium Station | A train between Byford and Perth from the Eastern Concourse |
| Thornlie-Cockburn | A train between Cockburn Central and Carlisle to Perth Stadium Station | From the Eastern Concourse; express from Stadium Station to Carlisle, then all stations to Cockburn Central |
| Fremantle | Train to Perth Station, then transfer to the Armadale Line | A Fremantle Line train from the Western Concourse, or a train to Perth from the Eastern Concourse and transfer |
| Yanchep | Weekend events: a special event train direct to Perth Stadium Station. Or a timetabled train to Perth Underground, then a Stadium shuttle from Perth Station. | A Yanchep Line service from the Western Concourse, or a train to Perth from the Eastern Concourse and transfer |
| Mandurah | Weekend events: a special direct train from Mandurah via Cockburn-Thornlie. Or a timetabled train to Perth Underground, then a Stadium Station service. | A Mandurah Line train from the Eastern Concourse, or a Thornlie-Cockburn train from Platform 6 to Cockburn Station and change there |
| Midland, Airport and Ellenbrook | Train to East Perth Station and walk over the Windan Bridge, or train to Perth Station and change to a Stadium shuttle | Walk over the Windan Bridge to East Perth Station, or take a Perth shuttle from the Eastern Concourse and change in Perth. For the Airport Line, transfer at Bayswater. |
Transperth publishes a walking route map for the Windan Bridge walk from East Perth Station.

Which event buses run?
Transperth says the event buses supplement the trains, run limited-stop along key corridors, and are not timetabled services, so they do not appear on its timetables. Use the JourneyPlanner to check whether they are operating for your event. The buses are scheduled to start arriving up to two hours before the event, at a higher frequency, and they finish 45 minutes after the event.
| Route | Departs from (towards the stadium) |
|---|---|
| Red CAT | West Perth via the Perth CBD |
| 650 | Karrinyup Bus Station via Innaloo |
| 652 | Mirrabooka Bus Station via Alexander Drive |
| 653 | Galleria Bus Station via Beaufort Street |
| 654 | Bassendean Station via Great Eastern Highway |
| 655 | Kalamunda Bus Station via High Wycombe Station |
| 656 | Willetton via Bentley Plaza |
| 657 | Curtin University Bus Station via Kent Street |
| 658 | Hamilton Hill via Booragoon Bus Station (express between Canning Bridge and Perth Stadium Bus Station) |
| 659 | Fremantle Station via Canning Highway |
Route 650 from Karrinyup now departs from Stands 18 and 19 at Perth Stadium Bus Station, according to Transperth, which also publishes a stand allocation document for the bus station.

What is the Red CAT doing?
Transperth says the Red CAT is temporarily operating a shorter route, ending at Hale Street because of a road closure. During stadium events its service extends to Matagarup Bridge for about two hours before the event, and Transperth’s page says it continues until 45 minutes after the event, including during the event. Optus Stadium’s page says one hour after the event. If you travel outside those times, you need another service to the stadium. Optus Stadium suggests the Yellow CAT, getting off at Nile Street, as an alternative. The Red CAT runs every day of the year except Good Friday, Anzac Day and Christmas Day.

What is different for weekday events?
Both Transperth and Optus Stadium say that for weekday events there are no suburban event buses and no direct Yanchep Line trains before the event. The rest of the network is as follows.
- Catch a timetabled train to Perth Station and transfer to the Armadale or Thornlie-Cockburn Line to reach Perth Stadium Station.
- Mandurah Line passengers can transfer at Cockburn Central to a train that stops all stations to Perth Stadium Station.
- The suburban event bus network does not run before weekday matches. You catch a regular timetabled bus to the city and transfer to a train. It does run for 45 minutes after the final siren.
Transperth’s Weekday Stadium Services page lists alternatives from some suburbs, using regular timetabled services that it says may be busier than usual around event times.
| Travelling from | Transperth’s alternative |
|---|---|
| Karrinyup Bus Station | Route 423 or 425 to Stirling Station, the Yanchep Line, then the Armadale or Thornlie-Cockburn Line at Perth Underground |
| Mirrabooka Bus Station and Alexander Drive | Route 960 to Perth Busport, then the Armadale or Thornlie-Cockburn Line |
| Galleria Bus Station and Beaufort Street | Route 950 to Perth Station, then the Armadale or Thornlie-Cockburn Line |
| Bassendean Station | Midland Line to East Perth Station and walk to the stadium, or to Perth Station and transfer |
| Great Eastern Highway | Route 940 to Great Eastern Highway, Burswood, and walk; or Route 940 to St Georges Terrace, then walk to Perth Station and transfer |
| High Wycombe Station | Airport Line to East Perth Station and walk, or to Perth Station and transfer |
| Belmont Forum Shopping Centre | Route 39 or 935 to Great Eastern Highway, Burswood, and walk; or Route 38 to Causeway Bus Station and walk |
| Curtin Central and Curtin University bus stations | Route 960 to Causeway Bus Station and walk, or to Perth Station and transfer |
| Canning Highway | Route 910 to Causeway Bus Station and walk, or to Perth Busport and transfer |
| Fremantle Station | Fremantle Line to Perth Station, then the Armadale or Thornlie-Cockburn Line |
| Perth Station | The Armadale or Thornlie-Cockburn Line, or the Red CAT from Perth Station Stand 5 to Matagarup Bridge, then walk |
The page lists more suburbs than the table shows, including Kalamunda, Southlands Boulevard, Bentley Plaza, Victoria Park, Booragoon and Hamilton Hill.

What about non-event days?
Optus Stadium says trains stop at the Perth Stadium precinct seven days a week. Trains between Cannington and Perth run at an increased frequency of about 7.5 minutes during the day and 15 minutes in the evenings, according to the stadium’s page. Its Armadale Line timetable is linked from the page.
