On five game days between Wednesday 18 November 2026 and Sunday 17 January 2027, Ninja Stadium in Bellerive will run a traffic management plan that closes Park Street, Church Street and part of Derwent Street to general traffic. The venue says there is limited parking around the ground, that no extra bus services are planned at this time, and that rideshare and taxi pick-ups move to Douglas Street on event days.

This guide sets out the five dates, the streets that close, the parking and transport options the venue lists, and the rules for what you can bring in. It draws on the venue’s own Getting to Ninja Stadium page, its residents and traffic management page and its conditions of entry, all read on Wednesday 21 October 2026. The ground is the one many people still know as Blundstone Arena: Pulse Tasmania reported in October 2024 that Cricket Tasmania had agreed a four-year deal with SharkNinja to rename the Bellerive Oval ground.

Which days have road closures?

The venue’s pages list five days on which a traffic management plan will be in place, covering road closures and parking restrictions:

Day What the venue’s events list shows on that date
Wednesday 18 November 2026 Australia v England Men’s 3rd ODI (no start time on the venue page)
Thursday 17 December 2026 KFC BBL|16, Hobart Hurricanes v Brisbane Heat, 7:15pm start
Tuesday 29 December 2026 KFC BBL|16, Hobart Hurricanes v Melbourne Stars, 7:15pm start
Tuesday 5 January 2027 KFC BBL|16, Hobart Hurricanes v Sydney Thunder, 7:15pm start
Sunday 17 January 2027 KFC BBL|16, Hobart Hurricanes v Sydney Sixers, 1:40pm start

The venue says the plan is needed because of the large crowds anticipated at these events, and that its safety measures also cover residents and users of the area. It asks for your cooperation with police and traffic management staff when you arrive and leave.

What about the other matches?

The venue’s list of upcoming events also includes four Women’s Big Bash League home matches for the Hobart Hurricanes: on Wednesday 4 November against Melbourne Renegades at 7:10pm, Tuesday 10 November against Adelaide Strikers at 7:10pm, Saturday 14 November against Brisbane Heat at 3:40pm and Saturday 21 November against Sydney Thunder at 12:00pm. Those dates are not on the venue’s list of traffic management plan days, and its pages do not say what applies on them. Check the venue’s What’s On page and its traffic notices before you drive.

Which streets close?

On each of the five days, the venue says these streets are closed to general traffic:

  • Park Street, for its entire length between Scott Street and Derwent Street.
  • Church Street, for its entire length between Scott Street and Beach Street.
  • Derwent Street, between Douglas Street and the entrance to the beach car park.

Residents of those streets are allowed access, as are holders of disability parking permits and service vehicles. A resident needs a driver’s licence or a letter showing their residential address ready for inspection by police or traffic management staff. The venue publishes a road closure map, DDA parking areas and a full copy of its Traffic Management Plan on the Getting to Ninja Stadium page. The venue does not list closing times on the pages read for this guide.

How do I get to Ninja Stadium by car?

The venue describes Bellerive as about a ten-minute drive from the Hobart city centre. If you are coming from the city, it says to follow the signs to Bellerive on the Tasman Bridge. The venue’s address is 15 Derwent Street, Bellerive.

Where can I park?

The venue says there is limited parking around the stadium on event day and encourages patrons to use public transport. If you must drive, the parking option it names is Kangaroo Bay, marked as free. Council parking officers will actively enforce parking regulations in the surrounding streets, car parks and nature strip areas throughout the event.

The venue lists what will be enforced: parking on nature strips, across driveways, over yellow lines, in restricted zones, or in any area marked “No Stopping” or “Permit Only” is strictly prohibited. Officers will also monitor time-limited parking zones and check that vehicles do not exceed the permitted duration.

Can I take a bus or ferry?

The venue says there are no planned additional bus services at this time, for the AFL, BBL and Australian international cricket games alike. For days without an event, it names buses 601, 615, 625 and 634, which leave from the Hobart City Interchange and go via Rosny Park. It says they stop at stop 9 on Clarence Street for patrons returning home, and that all four routes go down Clarence Street for easy access to the stadium. It asks you to double check when buses are running if an event falls on a public holiday, and points to Metro Tasmania for more information.

Metro Tasmania bus travel is currently free under the Tasmanian Government’s scheme; our guide to free bus travel in Tasmania explains what it covers and when it ends.

The venue’s page also has a section on ferry services across the AFL, BBL and international cricket games. It asks you to check the venue’s own information for reliable details on free services and says it does not recommend using AI services or Google for that information, as the results may be incorrect. The text of that section did not include ferry times when this guide was written.

Where do rideshare and taxi pick-ups happen?

On event days, the pick-up and drop-off point for rideshare services is on Douglas Street. The venue encourages guests not to order a rideshare or taxi until they have reached the pick-up point, to avoid congestion in the pick-up area. On days without an event, the venue lists the pick-up and drop-off point as Derwent Street, outside the main entrance.

What can I bring into the stadium?

The venue’s conditions of entry begin with a plain statement: Ninja Stadium is a cashless venue. It says management may inspect bags and clothing for prohibited items, that cloakroom facilities are not available for them, and that the conditions can vary between events. For BBL and international matches, they are to be read alongside Cricket Australia’s ticket and entry conditions.

The prohibited items include:

  • alcohol, opened drink containers, cans, glass and crockery;
  • chairs, stools and shade shelters (seat cushions are allowed if made without metal frames or rigid structural elements);
  • hard cool boxes (collapsible cooler bags are permitted);
  • umbrellas and beach balls;
  • rollerblades, skates, skateboards, scooters and bicycles;
  • cricket bats (only small autograph bats are allowed);
  • animals, except guide and hearing animals;
  • drones.

The conditions also note that some areas of the ground are exposed to direct sunlight and heat, and ask patrons to take care with sun protection and hydration. Concession patrons must show a valid identification card at the ticket box and at the turnstile.

Who do I contact?

The venue’s address is 15 Derwent Street, Bellerive, and its phone number is (03) 6282 0400. Reception hours are Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm, and may vary on public holidays. Residents can email questions and feedback about events to info@ninjastadium.com.au.

Quick plan for a game day

  • Check the date: Wednesday 18 November, Thursday 17 December, Tuesday 29 December, Tuesday 5 January or Sunday 17 January.
  • Avoid driving down Park Street, Church Street and the Douglas-to-beach-car-park part of Derwent Street unless you live there.
  • Take public transport where you can, because the venue calls parking limited. Kangaroo Bay is the free car park it names.
  • Book your rideshare only when you reach the Douglas Street pick-up point.
  • Bring a card or phone, because the venue is cashless, and leave umbrellas, chairs and glass at home.
