Parking at Newcastle Airport is free for the first 2 hours in the Long Stay Saver car park, then $12 up to 3 hours, $20 up to 4 hours and $33 for 4 to 24 hours, according to the airport’s drive-up price table as of October 2026. The airport has five car parks, and the Short Stay car park costs $10 for the first hour.
The figures below come from the airport’s parking page, which lists “drive up” prices and says the best prices are for online bookings at parking.newcastleairport.com.au. The page does not list online booking prices, so check the booking site for the price of your dates.
Which car parks does Newcastle Airport have?
The airport says it has five car parks, all close to the terminal:
| Car park | Distance to terminal | Walk | Height limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Premium Covered | Directly outside the terminal, undercover | – | 2.7 metres |
| Short Stay | 150 metres | 3 to 4 minutes | 3.0 metres |
| Long Stay | 300 metres | 4 to 5 minutes | 3.0 metres |
| Mid Stay | 350 metres | 5 to 6 minutes | 3.0 metres |
| Long Stay Saver | 500 metres | 7 to 8 minutes | 3.0 metres |
The airport’s page says its car park shuttle is no longer operational and asks drivers to consider the parking location and distance to the terminal when choosing a car park. That matters most for Long Stay Saver, which has the longest walk.

These are the airport’s published drive-up prices. Reading across the table, Long Stay Saver has the lowest price in every row, tied with Short Stay at $20 for 3 to 4 hours. Long Stay and Mid Stay carry the same prices in this table.

Is there any free or low-cost parking?
Yes. The airport says Long Stay Saver is free for the first 2 hours. If you book online, a Mystery Carpark product is also bookable with limited availability, where the car park location is revealed once your booking is confirmed; the airport says to book early to save.
The airport’s pick-up and drop-off page describes the 2 free hours as a place to park and wait for a passenger. You wait in Long Stay Saver until your passenger says they are ready, then drive to the pick-up zone.
How do I pick up or drop off someone without parking?
Passengers can only be dropped off at the departures end of the terminal and picked up outside the arrivals end. All pick-up and drop-off zones are no-parking zones for immediate loading and unloading only, and the airport says leaving a vehicle unattended there can lead to an infringement notice. Staff in uniform may ask you to move.
If you want more time to say goodbye or to greet someone, use the free 2 hours in Long Stay Saver or the Short Stay car park at $10 for the first hour. You can also accompany your family members or friends through domestic security screening and wait with them in the departures lounge, according to the airport.
How do I find the car parks?
The airport says to follow the airport signs along Nelson Bay Road and turn off onto Williamtown Drive. From there:
- Premium: follow Williamtown Drive for 1.3 km, then turn right directly into the car park.
- Short Stay: follow Williamtown Drive for 990 m, then turn left into the car park.
- Long Stay: follow Williamtown Drive for 800 m, then turn left into the Long Stay 1 car park.
- Mid Stay: follow Williamtown Drive for 680 m, turn right into Kindler Way for 820 m, then turn left into Mid Stay after the rental car driveway.
- Long Stay Saver: follow Williamtown Drive for 320 m, turn first right into Technology Place for 100 m, turn left into Cresswell Way for 100 m, then left into the car park. The airport gives a second route: follow Williamtown Drive for 680 m, turn right into Kindler Way for 820 m, turn right into Cresswell Way for 100 m, then turn right directly into the car park.
The airport also publishes a parking map you can download from its parking page.

How do I pay, and what if I lose my ticket?
The airport says its best rates are for reservations made online in advance, and you can pay online with Visa, Mastercard or Amex. Without a reservation, you can pay by credit card or cash at any payment station inside the terminal, or by credit card at the boomgate when you leave.
If you lose your ticket, go to one of the payment stations in Arrivals and use the “press for assistance” button. You are connected with the operations team, and you need to give your car registration number so they can search for your entry details.

Can I book ahead?
Yes. The online booking system accepts bookings from 2 hours before entry to 12 months in advance, and the airport says no amendment or cancellation fees apply before entry. Note that the page shows two different lead times: the booking form says car parking cannot be pre-booked less than 1 hour in advance, while the FAQ and promotion terms say 2 hours. Book well before you leave to avoid the gap.
Are there parking promotions?
The airport’s terms list several online-only offers, all subject to availability and capable of being withdrawn. The Spring Sale offers 15% off all car parks except the Premium Covered car park and the Mystery Car Park offer: book by 31 October and enter the car park by 30 November 2026. A separate SMS Spring Sale offer is 15% off all car parks except the Mystery Car Park offer, with booking and entry by 31 October 2026. A HUNTERhunter. subscriber offer takes 15% off all car parks except Premium Covered and Mystery Car Park, for online bookings with entry by 1 July 2027. Offers cannot be combined.

What accessible and family parking is there?
The airport says it has accessible parking spaces for passengers and visitors with a disability in the Premium, Short Stay, Long Stay and Long Stay Saver car parks, and that the pathways from those car parks to the terminal meet Australian accessibility standards. Its FAQ elsewhere says accessible spaces are in all of its car parks, so ask the airport before you fly if you need a particular car park.
Pick-up and drop-off areas for passengers with a disability are in the Short Stay car park. The parking page puts that area 100 metres from the terminal, while its car park list puts the Short Stay car park 150 metres away. Family parking spaces, marked with a pram symbol, are in the Premium Covered and Short Stay car parks.
What about security, motorcycles and traffic?
All of the airport’s car parks have CCTV, are well lit, and the airport is staffed 24 hours a day. Motorcycles must be parked within a parking space and not on footpaths, walkways or entry and exit doors. For traffic delays on the way, the airport points to Live Traffic NSW.
Can I take the bus instead?
Port Stephens Coaches and Hunter Valley Buses both serve the airport. Our Newcastle Airport to the city by bus guide sets out the timetable and how to pay.
