The most you can be charged at the Bruce Bishop car park in Surfers Paradise is $21 for a calendar day, with one entry and one exit. The City of Gold Coast runs the car park at 10 Beach Road, and it takes cards only: no cash is accepted, and only Mastercard and Visa work.

The car park has 533 spaces on 2 levels. Vehicles over 2.08 metres high may not enter, and trailers are not permitted. Prices on this page are as of October 2026, taken from the City’s car park page.

How much does it cost?

The City’s Bruce Bishop Carpark page publishes these casual rates:

Time parked Charge
0 to 2 hours $5.50
2 to 3 hours $15.40
3 to 4 hours $19
4 hours or more $21
Maximum daily charge (one entry and one exit only) $21

The charge rises from $5.50 to $15.40 as soon as you pass 2 hours. A visit that runs to 2 hours and 10 minutes costs the 2 to 3 hour rate.

Is there an early bird rate?

Yes. The Early Bird rate is $18 per use. You qualify if you arrive between 5:30am and 8:00am and leave between 2:00pm and 6:00pm. The City’s page says the multi-day passes below can be bought at a pay station after parking, “except Early Bird”, and it does not say here how Early Bird is bought, so check the signs at the entry.

What do the multi-day passes cost?

Pass Valid for Price
Three-day pass 3 calendar days including the day of purchase, unlimited access 24 hours $52
Weekly ticket 7 calendar days including the day of purchase, unlimited access 24 hours $104
Two-week pass 14 calendar days including the day of purchase, unlimited access 24 hours $191.50
Monthly pass 1 calendar month including the day of purchase, unlimited access 24 hours $383

Buy a pass from a pay station immediately after you park: enter your registration number, press change and select the pass option. The City says holding a pass does not guarantee a space, and a pass cannot be used for rental vehicles being returned for collection or for ride share vehicles on standby. Each pass allows one entry and one exit per car at a time and cannot be shared through the day.

How do I pay?

Payment is by Mastercard or Visa credit or debit card. American Express and Diners Club cards are not accepted, and there is no cash. Pay stations are on the ground level near the Beach Road entry, on the upper level near the Ferny Avenue entry, and outside the lifts at the front of the Transit Centre. You can also pay by card at the exit lanes. For how the City’s street and car park meters work, see our guide to Gold Coast council parking meters; Bruce Bishop uses pay stations rather than meters.

If you do not present a pass, the car park’s conditions of use say the maximum charge for the days the vehicle has been parked is applied. For help, use the intercom at any terminal.

Can my vehicle fit?

Vehicles over 2.08 metres high may not enter, so roof boxes, bike racks and taller vans need checking before you drive in. Trailers are not permitted, and the conditions of use say none may be brought in without prior approval of management.

Is there disabled parking?

There are 6 disabled parking spaces on the ground floor just past the Beach Road entry. Vehicles must display a current disabled parking label, and interstate and overseas labels are also accepted. Those vehicles are exempt from fees: press the assistance button at any exit terminal and show your permit to get a free exit pass.

What does the car park say about floods?

The conditions of use say the lower levels are under the 1 in 100 year flood parameters and must not be used during floods. The car park is a regulated car park, so fines can be issued for breaching traffic regulations, and vehicles left for extended periods without approval can be towed at the owner’s cost.

Is it affected by the Gold Coast 500?

The City’s Bruce Bishop page does not carry a Gold Coast 500 notice. The sections of the Cypress Avenue, Macintosh Island, Phillip Park and Spit Seaway car parks closed for the race build are listed in the organiser’s Build Notice 05, and Bruce Bishop is not among them. The organisers also say there is no public parking at the event itself. Our Gold Coast 500 transport and parking guide explains how to get to the track by G:link. Another Surfers Paradise car park has its own rates in our HOTA parking guide. Check the signs and the meters on the day, because road and car park conditions in the area are changing through the build.

Can I get a refund on an unused pass?

Refunds are at the City’s discretion and apply only where a substantial amount of prepaid parking time has not been used. There are no refunds for casual or weekly parking, concessional parking, or the unused portion of passes issued for one month or less. The exception is if the automatic pay stations accidentally overcharged you, in which case you need supporting documentation and the City’s request for refund form.

For questions about the car park, the City’s number is 1300 GOLDCOAST (1300 465 326).
