The Gosford City Car Park at 1 Baker Street charges $3.20 for up to one hour and a maximum of $14.10 for a stay of more than seven hours, according to Central Coast Council’s parking page as of 20 October 2026. It is open Monday to Friday from 6am to 8pm and on Saturdays from 7.30am to 3pm, and it is closed on Sundays and public holidays except for special events.
The council runs the multi-storey car park, which has 650 spaces over five levels. You can reach it from the roundabout on Donnison Street, or by the Baker Street entry ramp via Erina Street. This guide sets out the hourly rates, the cheaper early bird and weekend options, what happens if you stay past closing time, and the other council car parks around Gosford, Terrigal and The Entrance.

How much does it cost to park?
The council’s parking page lists these casual rates for Levels 2 to 5. All fees include GST.
| Time parked | Fee |
|---|---|
| 0 to 1 hour | $3.20 |
| 1 to 2 hours | $4.50 |
| 2 to 3 hours | $5.70 |
| 3 to 4 hours | $7.00 |
| 4 to 5 hours | $9.30 |
| 5 to 6 hours | $11.30 |
| 6 to 7 hours | $12.60 |
| More than 7 hours | $14.10 maximum all-day fee, until midnight |
A short errand of up to an hour costs $3.20, and a half-day appointment of up to 4 hours costs $7.00. The all-day maximum of $14.10 applies until midnight, so the fee stops rising once you pass seven hours.
Is there a cheaper way to park all day?
On weekdays, yes. The council offers an early bird rate of $10.35 per day, with limited spaces. To qualify you must arrive before 9am, leave after 4.30pm and park on Level 4 or 5 only. If you do not meet all three conditions, the normal casual rates apply.
On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, the council lists a flat fee of $10.00 per vehicle for one entry and exit, covering your stay within the same day. Because the car park is closed on Sundays and public holidays outside special events, the weekend rate matters mainly on Saturdays, when it opens from 7.30am to 3pm.

What are the opening hours?
| Day | Hours |
|---|---|
| Monday to Friday | 6am to 8pm |
| Saturday | 7.30am to 3pm |
| Sunday and public holidays | Closed, except for special events |
The lift, which serves all five levels from Baker Street at ground level, runs during the same hours as the car park. The car park office takes enquiries from 9am to 4.30pm on weekdays, excluding public holidays, on (02) 4304 7509.
What if I am still inside after closing time?
The council says all users can exit at any time. Outside operating hours you walk down by the lift on the ground level, pay your casual fee at the pay station on the ground level or with the Scan to Pay QR code, and then enter your number on the lift access reader. You return to your vehicle and drive to the exit, where the boom gates open automatically as you approach.
If you instead need a person to release your vehicle after closing time, the council says an after-hours release fee of $77.20 may apply, payable by EFTPOS only, on top of any hourly, overnight or event fee. The council page gives a separate number for in-person release, so use that rather than the office line.
What does overnight parking cost?
The overnight fee is $27.85 per night, whether you stay under 24 hours or longer. It applies from midnight and is charged per night. The hourly casual rate keeps building during operating hours and is charged on top of the overnight fee when you collect the vehicle.

How does special event parking work?
The car park opens for special events in addition to its standard hours. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, the council lists a flat special event fee of $14.30. For a special event in the middle of the week, the casual rates in the table above apply. Opening and closing times can vary for each event, and the council says the hours are advertised at the car park entry on the day.
Why do the council’s two documents show different prices?
The council also publishes a Gosford City Car Park customer guide as a PDF, headed “2025/26”. The guide gives lower casual rates, with $2.90 for the first hour and a $12.80 all-day maximum, a $9.40 early bird fee and a $13 special event fee. The council’s web page, checked on 20 October 2026, shows the higher figures used in this guide, so the PDF appears to be the previous year’s price list. Where the two differ, the council’s web page is the operator’s current word, and the signs and pay station at the car park show what you will be charged on the day.
Where else can I park in Gosford?
The council page lists other options near the city centre, and several are free:
- Baker Street Pay by Plate area: on the ground level beneath the car park, via Erina Street. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A 3-hour limit and paid parking apply from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and from 9am to 12pm on Saturday, at $3.20 per hour with a minimum prepayment of one hour. Outside those times it is free with no time limit. You pay in advance at the machines, by EFTPOS only.
- Adcock Park, West Gosford: opposite the sports grounds, open 24 hours and free.
- Racecourse Road car park, West Gosford: at 10 Racecourse Road, a commuter car park next to the Gosford Tennis Centre overflow courts, open 24 hours and free.
If you are leaving a car to take the train, the Transport for NSW Park&Ride at Showground Road works differently, with up to 18 hours free when you complete a public transport trip. Our Gosford Park&Ride guide covers the rates and conditions.

What about Terrigal and The Entrance?
The same council page lists two free multi-storey car parks outside Gosford:
- Wilson Road, Terrigal (14 Wilson Road): free, with 426 all-day spaces. Levels 1 to 3A are open 24 hours a day. The Level 4 rooftop has seasonal hours: from October to February, 5am to 9pm Sunday to Thursday and 5am to 10pm on Friday and Saturday; from March to September, 5am to 8pm Sunday to Thursday and 5am to 9pm on Friday and Saturday. Live availability is on the NSW Government Park’NPay app.
- Coral Street, The Entrance (18 Coral Street): free, with 500 all-day spaces. The ground level is open 24 hours, Levels 1 and 2 from 6am to 11pm, and Level 3 and above is for residential and hotel parking only. The council says lift replacement works are expected to finish by 22 October 2026, and that people needing accessible parking should use the accessible spaces on Level 1 until then.
The council page says the after-hours vehicle release fee of $77.20 applies at both car parks if a vehicle is released after closing time.
Is the car park being worked on?
The council’s page carries a works notice: Stage 2 of the Smart Technology Upgrade, which includes installing a new wayfinding system, has started. The car park stays open, with some minor disruptions to traffic flows inside it.
