The Airtrain takes 20 minutes from Brisbane Airport to the city according to Airtrain, the adult fare to any Brisbane City station is $23.30 as of October 2026, and trains run every 15 minutes in weekday peaks and every 30 minutes the rest of the time. Brisbane Airport says a taxi to the city costs $67 to $82 one way and takes about 20 minutes outside peak periods, and rideshare is available from signed pick-up areas at both terminals.

Translink lists nine park ‘n’ ride car parks at eight Gold Coast train and light rail stations, with approximate space counts that range from 380 at Pimpama to 1,302 at Helensvale. Helensvale has the most spaces, in the Queensland Rail car park, and Robina has 950. Translink’s parking page does not give a fee for these car parks, so check the signs at the station. Gold Coast to Brisbane by Train: About 85 Minutes to Central, Every 15 to 30 Minutes, 50 Cents a Trip (QLD)

The train from Varsity Lakes to Brisbane’s Central station takes about 85 minutes, and a trip costs a flat 50 cents under Translink’s fares. On Monday 19 October 2026, Translink’s T5 Varsity Lakes timetable showed trains leaving Varsity Lakes every 15 minutes in the morning, and from Central to Varsity Lakes every 30 minutes in the middle of the day. Check the timetable for your own date, because track closures change it.

No Gold Coast Line Trains 17–18 October: Railbuses Between Beenleigh and Varsity Lakes (QLD)

There are no Gold Coast line trains between Beenleigh and Varsity Lakes from the first service on Saturday 17 October until the last service on Sunday 18 October. Translink is running timetabled railbuses between the two stations instead, and normal train services return with the first train on Monday 19 October.

On Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 October, Gold Coast line trains run express between Altandi and Roma Street from 9:30pm until the last service, so they do not stop at South Brisbane, South Bank or Boggo Road. Timetabled railbuses serve the inner-city stations instead, and normal trains return with the first service the next morning.
