Uniqlo’s first Sunshine Coast store is open at Sunshine Plaza in Maroochydore, on Level 1. Sunshine Plaza’s own new stores page says Uniqlo “is now open”, and its store page lists the trading hours above. This guide is based on those pages and on the centre’s location and parking page, all checked on Monday 26 October 2026. Maroochydore is on Brisbane time all year, so every time here is Queensland time with no daylight saving.
When did Uniqlo open at Sunshine Plaza, and how big is the store?
Sunshine Coast News reported on 22 September 2026 that Uniqlo would open its Sunshine Plaza store on 15 October. The plan it described was a Japanese drumming performance and a traditional ribbon cutting from 9:50am, with the doors opening at 10am. The same report said the store is 777 square metres and carries the LifeWear range for men, women, children and babies. That report is the source for the opening date and size; the centre’s own page confirms only that the store is now open.
The store was first announced in June 2026, when Uniqlo confirmed it had taken space at the centre without giving an opening date. The report also said special UT T-shirt designs by a Sunshine Coast artist would be sold only at the new store. Neither the centre nor the report names the artist or says how long those shirts will be on sale, so ask in store.

What are the Uniqlo Sunshine Plaza opening hours?
The Uniqlo page on the Sunshine Plaza website lists these trading hours, which match the centre’s regular hours:
| Day | Uniqlo trading hours |
|---|---|
| Monday | 9:00am to 5:30pm |
| Tuesday | 9:00am to 5:30pm |
| Wednesday | 9:00am to 5:30pm |
| Thursday | 9:00am to 9:00pm |
| Friday | 9:00am to 5:30pm |
| Saturday | 9:00am to 5:30pm |
| Sunday | 10:00am to 4:00pm |
The centre’s opening hours page says retailer trading hours may vary from the centre’s hours, and that extended, holiday and special event hours are posted there as they are set. It does not list Christmas or public holiday hours yet, so check that page before a holiday trip. The centre says it is open seven days a week, and Thursday is the only day with trading past 5:30pm, so that is the one evening when you can shop after work and still have the store open.
Where is Uniqlo inside Sunshine Plaza?
Uniqlo is on Level 1. The centre’s store page does not name a neighbouring shop or an entrance for Uniqlo, so this guide does not give directions inside the centre. Other Level 1 stores listed on the centre’s site include Myer (Levels G and 1), David Jones, Target, Mimco, Tootsies and Stylerunner, which may help you find the right level. The centre’s directory kiosks and the centre map show the exact spot.
The centre’s Customer Service desk is on the ground level, opposite Smiggle and Surf Dive n’ Ski. That is where you take receipts to claim extra free parking (see below).

How much is parking at Sunshine Plaza?
The centre’s location and parking page says Sunshine Plaza has 5 main car parking areas and more than 4,800 spaces. Parking is free, subject to the centre’s terms and conditions, if you:
- park for 3 hours or less;
- spend over $300 in one visit and have your receipts validated at Customer Service (the page describes this as up to 8 hours free on the same day; its FAQ words the threshold as “$300 or more”, so ask the desk if you are right on the line); or
- enter the centre after 6pm and leave before 2am.
After the first 3 hours, the rates published on that page are:
| Time parked | Rate |
|---|---|
| 0 to 3 hours | Free |
| 3 to 4 hours | $4.00 |
| 4 to 5 hours | $8.00 |
| 5 to 6 hours | $12.00 |
| 6 to 7 hours | $16.00 |
| Over 7 hours | $36.00 |
The maximum daily rate is $36.00, as of October 2026. Cinema customers get a fourth free hour if they scan their cinema ticket at a pay station. The centre says the free 3 hours applies again on a return visit the same day if you re-enter more than 45 minutes after leaving. Retailers and centre staff are not eligible for the parking promotions.
How does the ticketless parking work?
The car parks use licence plate recognition. A camera reads your registration on the way in, and no ticket is issued. If you stay under 3 hours the boom gate opens on its own at the exit. If you owe a fee, the centre lists three ways to pay:
- At a pay station inside any Sunshine Plaza car park, by entering your registration and paying by card.
- At the exit boom gate, by tapping a credit or debit card.
- Through an online account at parking.sunshineplaza.com, where you register your registration and card once and the fee is charged automatically when you leave.
For parking questions, the centre points to Point Parking at sunshineplaza@pointparking.com.au.

What are the height limits and EV charging options?
The centre lists these height limits: the Coles (orange) car park 2.25m; the Kmart (red) car park 2.2m, and 2.7m for the taxi bay; the Myer and David Jones (purple) car park 2.2m, with an express ramp entry of 2.15m; and the Big W (blue) car park 2.2m. Evie fast chargers are on Level 3 of the Myer multi-deck car park (the page calls it the Yellow Myer car park, while its height list calls the Myer car park purple, so follow the signs rather than the colour), and Tesla-only bays are on the ground level of the Kmart multi-deck car park. Motorcycle riders park free in the designated motorcycle bays only.
How do I get to Sunshine Plaza by car or bus?
By car, the centre says to take the Maroochydore Boulevard exit from the Sunshine Motorway and turn right onto Plaza Parade. The other entry points are from Horton Parade and Amaroo Street. By bus, the bus terminal and interchange is on Horton Parade near the entrance to bcc Cinemas, and the centre’s digital directory kiosks show real-time departures. Use the Translink journey planner for routes and times to the interchange.

What else has opened at Sunshine Plaza recently?
The centre’s new stores page lists a run of openings, relocations and reopenings. On Level 1 it names Oroton (next to SABO), Afends (next to Platypus), SABO (next to Lululemon Athletica) and Ariat (next to Sephora). On the ground floor it names Supre (next to Ghanda Clothing), Rockwear (next to Athlete’s Foot) and Mask Co (opposite Sunglass Hut). OPSM and Lululemon have moved into new spaces, and Zeus Greek Street is in the Riverwalk Dining Precinct.
The same page says JD Sports and Frankly my Dear are “around the corner” but gives no opening date for either. Until the centre publishes dates, treat those two as not yet confirmed.
