The City of Wanneroo’s Halloween Spooktacular is free and runs from 2pm to 6pm on Saturday 31 October 2026 at Houghton Park, Carramar (WA). The City describes it as an all-ages community event with carnival rides, a costume parade and competition, a trick-or-treat trail, food trucks and market stalls.
This guide uses the City of Wanneroo’s own event page, read on 26 October 2026, and its events calendar. The City has not published parking or public transport advice for the day, and this guide says so where it matters rather than guessing.
Is the Halloween Spooktacular free?
Yes. The City lists the cost as free, and calls the afternoon a free, all-ages community event for residents. The rides, activities and entertainment on the program are part of the free event. The City’s page lists the food trucks and market stalls by name but gives no prices and does not say how they take payment.

Perth does not use daylight saving, so the times on the City’s page are Western Standard Time all year. If you are travelling from the eastern states, the same afternoon is 5pm to 9pm in Sydney and Melbourne.

What rides are at the Halloween Spooktacular?
The City’s page lists five rides:
- Storm
- Fiesta Balloon
- Runaway Train
- Cup & Saucer
- Swan Valley Express Train Ride
The page does not give height or age limits for any ride, and it does not say whether wristbands or tickets are needed, so treat those as unconfirmed. If you are bringing young children, check the City’s page or its social media on Friday for any update.
What else is on the program?
Besides the rides, the City lists these activities and stalls:
| Who | What they offer |
|---|---|
| Freedom Fairies | Face painting and glitter tattoos |
| The Fun Depot | Carnival games |
| Art and craft stations | Free art and craft activities |
| City of Wanneroo Youth Services | Youth stall |
| City of Wanneroo Waste Education | Waste education stall |
| DJ Dench | DJ and music, the Best Dressed parade and the Best Spooky Dance competition |
| BK’s Gymnastics High Flyers | Have-a-go gymnastics activity |

How does the costume parade work?
The Best Dressed parade is led by DJ Dench, and prizes go to the best-dressed participants in two age groups: under 5 years, and 5 years and over. A separate Best Spooky Dance competition, also with DJ Dench, has prizes to be won. The City’s page does not give start times for the parade or the dance competition, so arrive early in the afternoon if you want to enter. The event page also lists a trick-or-treat trail: you collect treats as you walk around the event, visiting participating food trucks and market stalls.
Which food trucks and market stalls will be there?
The City lists seven food trucks: Halal Bros, Passaparola Pizzeria, Chips on a Stick WA, Osakaya Okonomiyaki, El Sabor Latino, Fairy Pop Fun Food and Zest. The market stalls on its list are Exotic Filled Candy & Liquorice, Treasure Gem, Angels on Earth, Arbonne, Bun Buns Personalisation Station, Crafty Collections, Elaborate Gifts & Supplies, Festival of Hair, Knotty Bracelets, LollyBDesigns, Suzational Creations, The Candy Parlour and Engraving Gifts.
The page does not say whether the trucks and stalls take cards or cash only. Bring a card and a little cash in case a stall has no card reader.

Where do I park, and are there buses to Houghton Park?
The City of Wanneroo has not published parking or bus advice for the Halloween Spooktacular on the event page we read, and it lists no street address for Houghton Park beyond “Houghton Park, Carramar”. Two things you can do:
- Follow any signs on the day. The City has not said how it will direct traffic or whether there will be marshals.
- Use the Transperth journey planner. Enter “Houghton Park, Carramar” at transperth.wa.gov.au to see Saturday afternoon services.
If you drive, the City has not published where to park or whether there is an overflow area, so leave extra time to find a spot and park only where signs allow.

What happens if it rains?
The City’s page does not mention a wet-weather plan, a postponement date or a cancellation notice. Check the City of Wanneroo’s events page and its social media on the morning of Saturday 31 October before you leave home. The event is outdoors in a park and the program includes rides.
How should I plan the afternoon?
The City has published one fixed time, 2pm to 6pm, and a list of what is on, but no hour-by-hour schedule. With that in mind, here is a way to use what is confirmed:
- Go early if you want the rides. There are five of them, and the City has not said how long queues will be or whether any ride closes before 6pm.
- Enter the costume parade or dance competition. Both are led by DJ Dench and both have prizes, but the parade has only two age groups, under 5 and 5 and over, so decide beforehand which one you are in.
- Walk the trick-or-treat trail with the food stop in mind. The trail passes participating food trucks and market stalls, so eat at the same time you collect treats.
- Check the City’s page on Friday. The City has not said where it will post parking, ride rules or a weather call.
Is it suitable for little kids and people with access needs?
The City calls the Spooktacular all-ages, safe, inclusive and family-friendly, and the program includes rides, face painting and craft stations with no stated minimum age. It does not publish details about accessible parking, step-free paths, quiet areas or toilets at Houghton Park, so if you need any of these, contact the City of Wanneroo through its website before Saturday rather than assuming they are provided.
What else is on in the City of Wanneroo this week?
The City’s events calendar shows other free events around the Spooktacular:

|---|---|---|
| Baby and Toddler Clothes Swap | Thursday 29 October, 10am to 1pm, Clarkson Library | Free |
| Bike Month Breakfast | Friday 30 October, 7:30am to 9:30am, Girrawheen Library | Free |

Boo in Wanneroo is the City’s other Halloween event, a free family event at the Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre on Friday 30 October. The City lists it as sold out, so it is not an option if you have not already registered.
The next big event on the City’s calendar is the Wanneroo Show, a ticketed event at the Wanneroo Showgrounds on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 November.
