Westfield Plenty Valley will be closed on Friday 25 December 2026 and open for longer than usual in the weeks before Christmas, with the latest closes of 9pm on Black Friday (27 November), Thursday 17 December and Friday 18 December. The centre has published a day-by-day list from 27 November to Friday 1 January, and this guide sets it out in one table with the other practical details from the centre’s own pages.

What are the Westfield Plenty Valley Christmas opening hours?
The centre’s festive season opening hours page lists the dates and weekdays below. The weekdays match the 2026 calendar. The page says the centre is “open longer this festive season” in the lead-up to Christmas. Times are Melbourne time, which is on daylight saving in summer.

The labels “Christmas Eve”, “Christmas Day” and “New Year’s Eve” in the table are ours, added to match the dates; the centre’s page lists only the dates, with “Black Friday” and “Closed” as its own labels.
Which days are the latest to shop?
Three dates run to 9pm: Black Friday on 27 November, and the Thursday and Friday a week before Christmas, 17 and 18 December. The Monday to Wednesday before those, 14 to 16 December, close at 7pm, and so do every day from Saturday 19 December to Wednesday 23 December. The earliest start of the whole list is Christmas Eve, when the doors open at 8am and close at 5:30pm.
The page does not list any dates between Black Friday and Saturday 12 December. That gap covers Saturday 28 November to Friday 11 December. The centre does not say whether it trades on its usual hours then, and the dates are not in the table above.
Counting the listed days by closing time: three close at 9pm, eight at 7pm (14 to 16 and 19 to 23 December), three at 6pm (12, 13 and 31 December), three at 5:30pm (24, 29 and 30 December) and four at 5pm (26, 27 and 28 December and 1 January). Friday 25 December is the only day marked closed.
What are the hours between Boxing Day and New Year?
After the closure on Friday 25 December, the centre opens again on Saturday 26 December from 9am to 5pm. Sunday 27 and Monday 28 December start later, at 10am, and close at 5pm. Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 December run from 9am to 5:30pm, New Year’s Eve on Thursday 31 December from 9am to 6pm, and Friday 1 January from 10am to 5pm. No day in this stretch trades past 6pm, so an evening trip after Christmas is not on the centre’s list.
The first weekend on the list, Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December, also closes at 6pm, which is earlier than the weekdays that follow it.

Will every store keep the centre’s hours?
No. The centre says individual store hours will vary, and that the hours above are not compulsory for retailers: “some stores may choose to trade at alternative times”. Its advice is to call the store before you arrive or check the store’s own hours.
Can I park, and how do I get there?
The centre’s getting here page says parking is free from 9am to 5pm, with 4 hour parking spaces, and that the car parks are reached from McDonald’s Road and Morang Drive. The page does not say how that arrangement works on days when the centre trades until 7pm or 9pm, and we have not seen a separate Christmas parking notice.
Other options listed on the same page:
- Train: take the South Morang line to South Morang Station. The centre tells shoppers to check the Public Transport Victoria website for timetables, line closures and track work before they leave.
- Taxi: there is a taxi rank at the Commonwealth Bank entrance.
- Bike: there are bike racks near all of the main entrances.

The concierge desk is at 415 McDonalds Road, Mill Park VIC 3082, on 03 9404 4511. When we checked, its own hours were 9am to 5pm, which is earlier than the late closes in the table.
When does Santa arrive at Westfield Plenty Valley?
The centre’s Santa’s arrival page gives Saturday 7 November, with the parade starting at 11am from the Woolworths entrance and Santa arriving at his big red chair near Aldi. The same page also contains the line “Saturday 8 November” in one place, and says events are subject to change, so check the page that morning. The page says Santa photography options include Sensitive Santa and pet photography.

Westfield’s national Christmas page adds that Santa photos can be booked online, with sessions including Family and Friends, Pet, Auslan Santa, Sensitive Santa and a “My First Christmas” package. That page covers Westfield centres generally and tells shoppers to check the local centre’s website, so we have not confirmed which sessions run at Plenty Valley or on which dates.
What else does the centre offer at Christmas?
Westfield’s Christmas page lists several services across its centres: hands-free shopping, valet, EV charging with in-app navigation, and Quiet Time. It tells readers to go to their local centre’s website for details, and the Plenty Valley pages we checked do not describe any of them. We are not treating them as confirmed for Plenty Valley. The same page says Westfield Gift Cards are sold at Concierge or online.

What if the hours change?
Westfield describes its upcoming events as “subject to change”, and the opening hours page is the centre’s own notice for the season. For other recent news about the centre, see our guide to new stores and parking at Westfield Plenty Valley.
