Djerriwarrh Festival is on Saturday 7 November 2026 from 2pm to 9pm on High Street in Melton, it is free, and the night ends with a fireworks display at 9pm, weather permitting. High Street between Smith Street and Melton Valley Drive is closed from 4am. This guide collects what the City of Melton has published on its festival website, checked on 27 October 2026: the stage times, the closures, how to get there and what you can bring.

What time does Djerriwarrh Festival start and finish?

The festival website splits the day into two parts. Most of the activity areas run from 2pm to 7pm, and the Main Stage, Market Village and food trucks run from 2pm to 9pm, with the fireworks at 9pm. The council’s save the date notice, published on 21 September 2026, describes this year as a refreshed format aimed at a more connected, family-friendly celebration.

Time What is on
2pm to 7pm The Play Ground, Local Heroes emergency services display, Meet with Melton council and community stalls, The Good Sports Hub, Young Communities Amplify Activation in the Community Hall, BMX Showcase, Circus Trick Tease, activities for all ages

Who is playing on the Main Stage, and when?

The live music line-up lists five acts, all on the Main Stage at Police Paddock:

Time Act How the festival describes them
2.30pm Play Date No description on the line-up page
4pm Jarabi No description on the line-up page
5pm Shannen James Melbourne-born singer-songwriter; indie pop with a touch of country; debut album Patchwork released February 2024
7pm Didirri Australian singer-songwriter; indie-folk and understated rock
8.10pm Taxiride ft Jason Singh Jason Singh is the voice behind the hits Get Set and Creepin’ Up Slowly

The line-up page gives start times only, not how long each set runs. The council says the 9pm fireworks time is subject to change and was correct at the time of publication, so check the council’s Facebook page on the day if timing matters to you.

Which roads are closed on 7 November?

The road closures page lists these restrictions for Saturday 7 November 2026:

Road Closed Hours
Yuille Street, from High Street to Unitt Street Full closure 4am Saturday to 12am Sunday
High Street, between Smith Street and Melton Valley Drive Full closure 4am Saturday to 12am Sunday
Nixon Street, from Smith Street to Reserve Road Full closure 7.30am to 11.59pm

The Melton Recreation Reserve is closed to the public from 6am to 11.59pm on the same day, because it is part of the festival site. The council points to its Facebook page for updates. One thing to watch: the festival’s FAQ page still says to “check back soon” for a list of 2026 road closures, but the dedicated road closures page already has the list above, so treat the road closures page as the current one.

Where can I park near Djerriwarrh Festival?

The council does not name a festival car park. Its getting there page says you can park anywhere near the event site as long as you follow road regulations and do not block residential or business driveways. It also asks visitors to respect private business car parks, because many of those businesses stay open during the event. The closures above cover the streets next to the site, so check the closure times before you choose where to leave the car.

Limited accessible parking is available at the Melton Civic Centre car park, 232 High Street. Enter via Yuille Street from the corner of Yuille Street and Unitt Street. Only vehicles displaying an Accessible Parking Permit are allowed in. The council does not say how many spaces there are.

Are buses or trains running to the festival?

The council encourages public transport where possible. Buses run on normal Saturday timetables, but some routes are affected by the road closures. Additional services have been arranged, departing the Palmerston Street Bus Terminal at 9pm, 9.40pm, 10.20pm and 11pm, stopping at all bus stops along routes 453T, 455T, 457T and 458T. For other questions the council gives the Public Transport Victoria number, 1800 800 007, and the website ptv.vic.gov.au.

The festival page does not mention trains, and we have not checked V/Line timetables or planned works for Saturday 7 November. If you plan to come by train, look up your trip on the Public Transport Victoria journey planner before you leave.

What is there for kids and families?

The For the Kids page lists several areas, all running 2pm to 7pm:

Area Where What the festival lists
The Play Ground Civic Lawn Puppet shows, a wildlife display, a bubble play space, a craft workshop, a story corner, interactive music performances and plant potting; zones include Bubble Zone, The Play Stage, Craft Zone, Wildlife Displays, Story Corner and Bunnings

The festival is free, and the festival page does not list separate ticket or token prices for these activities. The council says there will be free entertainment, activities, food and markets along High Street, but it has not published whether individual food stalls charge or what they sell.

What can I bring, and what is not allowed?

The FAQ page gives these answers:

Question Answer
Own food and drink? Yes, you can bring your own food and beverages, but no alcohol
Chairs and rugs? Yes; the council recommends bringing your own chairs and picnic rugs
Dogs? Friendly dogs on a leash are welcome; the council recommends they leave the site well before the 9pm fireworks
Drones? No. It is a no-fly zone for private drones, and it is illegal to fly over a crowd without a CASA permit
Alcohol? The festival is alcohol-free, with security and Victoria Police in attendance
ATM? None on site; the closest is at 283 High Street, Melton

Bring your own reusable water bottle too, because the council says free water is available through the day.

Where are the toilets, first aid and lost children point?

What Where, according to the council
First aid Inside Raglan Cottage, next to Police Paddock
Lost children point Police Paddock, near Raglan Cottage; collect a wristband and write your contact phone number on it
Parents Pod (baby change and feeding) Near Raglan Cottage in Police Paddock, next to the lost children marquee
Toilets In front of the information stall, and a limited number next to the Community Hall; additional accessible toilets onsite
Accessible toilet with carer key The Marveloo, with a key available for carers
Lost property Police Paddock, near Raglan Cottage
Free water Available onsite; bring a reusable bottle

The council also publishes a Festival Map as a PDF showing where each service is. We could not open that PDF, so use it on the day.

What is the accessibility set-up?

The accessibility page says footpaths surround the event site and most entry points are reachable from a footpath. The Main Stage is at Police Paddock, where there are no footpaths through the site, but most of it is a flat, grassed surface. Accessible toilets are onsite, and trained guide dogs and assistance animals are welcome. A Sensory-Friendly Zone offers a place to rest during the day, and its location is on the Festival Map.

The council says a social story for the 2026 festival will be published closer to the date. Social stories help parents and carers prepare children, or people who need extra support, for what to expect at the event.

What is the weather plan?

The fireworks are weather dependent, according to the festival’s information page. The council does not publish a wet-weather plan for the rest of the program, so follow the City of Melton Facebook page for any change on the day.

What is still unconfirmed?

As of 27 October 2026 the Food Vendors page says “Check back soon” and lists no vendors, and the Market Village page says stalls will be named closer to the event, though it mentions homewares, sonic diffusers, kids clothing and bath bombs. The full program and the festival map are PDFs that we could not open, so they may hold detail that is not in this guide. We will update this guide if the council adds detail.
