The cheapest car park at Hobart Airport for a stay of one to four days is the Saver, at $28 for one day and $90 for three to four days, as of 20 October 2026. Hobart Airport has five car parks, and only the Long Term and Saver car parks give you the first 15 minutes free.

This guide lists the five car parks, how far each is from the terminal, the airport’s published price table, and which car park costs least for each length of stay. All figures come from Hobart Airport’s parking page, read on Tuesday 20 October 2026.

Which car parks does Hobart Airport have?

The airport lists five options and asks drivers to follow the signage to the one they want: Valet, Premium, Short Term, Long Term or Saver. It also says demand for its car parks can be very high at times, so it encourages you to allow enough time to get to the airport.

Car park Walk to terminal Distance What the airport says
Valet 2 minutes 100 metres Drop off your keys. Electric vehicle charging available. Undercover option. Opening hours 5.00am to final flight.
Premium 2 to 3 minutes 100 to 150 metres Undercover
Short Term 2 to 3 minutes 100 to 200 metres Suitable for 2 days or less
Long Term 4 to 8 minutes 350 to 650 metres First 15 minutes free. Ideal for stays over five days.
Saver 6 minutes 500 metres First 15 minutes free. Suitable for stays from 1 to 4 days.

How much does each car park cost?

This is the airport’s published price table. The page does not say whether it covers drive-up parking, pre-booked parking, or both, so confirm the price when you book.

Which car park is cheapest for my stay?

Reading across the table, the lowest price in each row is:

  • Up to 15 minutes: free in Long Term or Saver.
  • 15 to 60 minutes: Saver, at $5 for 15 to 30 minutes and $10 for 30 to 60 minutes.
  • 1 to 2 hours: Short Term and Long Term, both $19. Saver is $28.
  • 2 to 6 hours: Short Term, at $20 for 2 to 3 hours and $22 for 3 to 6 hours.
  • 1 to 4 days: Saver, at $28 for one day, $50 for 1 to 2 days, $71 for 2 to 3 days and $90 for 3 to 4 days.
  • 4 to 5 days: Long Term at $109 (one dollar below Saver at $110).

Two rows are worth a second look. The Long Term price jumps from $19 for 1 to 2 hours to $59 for 2 to 3 hours, and it then stays at $59 up to a day. For a short wait of two hours or more, Short Term and Saver are well below it. For stays beyond five days, the table gives a price for each additional day or part of a day: $15 in Long Term, $16 in Saver, $19 in Short Term, $31 in Premium and $41 in Valet.

How does the Valet car park work?

The Valet service is the most expensive option and is a flat $47 for any stay up to one day. To use it, the airport says to park in the designated Valet bays in the Premium Car Park, then go to the Parking Customer Service Office, where attendants will assist you. Valet opening hours are 5.00am to final flight. Electric vehicle charging is available for Valet customers, and the airport has a separate page with more information on the charging service.

Can I book, and how do I pay if I just turn up?

The airport lets you book parking online. It lists quick and simple booking, licence plate recognition and free cancellations before your arrival day among the benefits, and there is a Manage booking link on the page.

If you turn up without a booking, the airport’s drive-up parking works like this: press the button for a ticket at the entry. When you leave, pay at the exit gate with your credit card, or at the pay station with card or cash.

What about dropping someone off or picking them up?

There is a free drop-off and pick-up lane outside the terminal building. It is for setting down and picking up passengers only, and parking attendants may ask you to move on. If you need to wait for a passenger, the airport points you to the Long Term car park, where the first 15 minutes are free. The drop-off and pick-up page adds that Australian Government security requirements mean a vehicle dropping off passengers must be attended at all times. An unattended vehicle is subject to an immediate fine and may be towed away.

Is there help for disability permit or seniors card holders?

Yes. The same page says vehicles displaying a disability parking permit can use the bays reserved for people with a disability on the drop-off and pick-up lane, about 80 metres from the terminal entry, and those vehicles must also be attended at all times. If your passenger needs assistance to and from the terminal, the airport asks you to park in the disability bays in the Valet car park, about 100 metres from the terminal entry, where the vehicle can be left unattended.

Customers with a valid disability permit or a seniors card are entitled to 1 hour free parking in the premium car park. Once that time has expired, you can stay in the Valet Car Park at Short Term rates for hourly parking or Long Term rates for overnight parking. The airport says to go to the Parking Customer Service Office and speak to an attendant to validate your parking ticket before you exit.

Is there another way to get to the airport?

SkyBus runs the airport bus to the city. Our Hobart Airport to the city by SkyBus guide has the fares and the Monday timetable, and the airport also lists taxi and rideshare pick-up points.
