Which gate and tip-off times are right (the two sources differ), and the finish time

If you hold a ticket for the Brisbane Bullets against the Perth Wildcats at Nissan Arena on Wednesday 4 November 2026, regular Brisbane City Council buses and Citytrains are free to ride from 3pm, and the Mains Road park ‘n’ ride next to the arena is closed all day. The venue and Translink also give different gate and game times, so check both before you leave.

This guide uses the Nissan Arena event page, its Major Events, Getting Here and Prohibited Items pages, and Translink’s event transport page and park ‘n’ ride closure notice, all read on Monday 26 October 2026. Brisbane is on Queensland time (AEST, UTC+10), which has no daylight saving.

What time do the gates open and the game start?

The two official sources disagree, so here are both. The venue’s event page lists the box office opening at 4:45pm, gates opening at 5:00pm and tip-off at 6:30pm, and adds that times are approximate and subject to change at any time. Translink’s event page lists gates at 5:30pm, the event shuttle starting at 5:30pm and the game starting at 7pm. The venue’s August news item also gives 6:30pm.

Item Venue (Nissan Arena) Translink
Box office opens 4:45pm Not listed
Gates open 5:00pm 5:30pm
Free travel begins Not listed 3:00pm
Event shuttle begins Not listed 5:30pm
Game starts 6:30pm tip-off 7:00pm

Plan around the earlier times. If the later ones turn out to be right, the cost is a short wait at the gates; if the earlier ones are right and you leave for the later ones, you could miss the start. The game is the NBL Ignite Cup match. The venue says Nissan Arena was the Bullets’ home court from 2019 to 2024 and calls this fixture a return to the venue.

How does free travel work?

Translink says that with a pre-purchased match ticket you can travel free to and from the game on all regular network-wide Brisbane City Council buses and Citytrains. The offer excludes Brisbane City Council ferries, the G: and Airtrain services. Free travel begins four hours before the match starts and ends four hours after the final bell, and Translink lists the period as beginning at 3pm for this game.

Outside the free-travel window, or on the ferries, G: and Airtrain, normal fares apply. Translink’s fares pages say a journey costs 50 cents regardless of distance and payment method, as of October 2026; our go card and contactless guide covers how to pay. Translink is on 13 12 30, 24 hours a day.

Where do the shuttle buses go?

Translink lists free shuttle buses for ticket holders from two places, both running to Nissan Arena between 5:30pm and 7pm.

Pick-up To Nissan Arena From Nissan Arena
Garden City interchange, stop O 5:30pm to 7pm Stop 57, Kessels Road, from 30 minutes after the game finishes
MacGregor park ‘n’ ride, Kessels Road stop 59 5:30pm to 7pm Stop 57, Kessels Road, from 30 minutes after the game finishes

The venue’s Major Events page says the shuttles pick up and drop off at Stop O at the Garden City Shopping Centre bus terminal and at the MacGregor park ‘n’ ride if hailed, with a Translink representative at the Garden City stop to help. It adds that the bus drops off at the arena’s Mains Road bus stop before the event and picks up from the Kessels Road bus stop afterwards. Translink’s departure stop for the return is Kessels Road at QEII Stadium, stop 57 (Stop ID 001667), and the nearby stops it lists are on Mains Road and Kessels Road.

The venue says regular train and bus timetables stay in operation on major event days, and that its Mains Road bus stop serves most Brisbane bus routes at all times of the day. It says the arena and precinct see high traffic on major event days and recommends arriving early to avoid transport delays.

Can I use the Mains Road park ‘n’ ride?

No. Translink’s notice, last reviewed on 1 October 2026, says the Mains Road park ‘n’ ride will be closed on Wednesday 4 November because of an event at Nissan Arena, and that parking returns to normal from the morning of Thursday 5 November. Bus services still run as normal. Translink suggests these alternatives if you normally park there to catch a bus.

Where What Translink says
Coopers Plains, Banoon, Sunnybank, Runcorn and Kuraby stations Beenleigh line train to the city
Fruitgrove station Beenleigh line train, or bus routes 150 and 156
Klumpp Road park ‘n’ ride Bus routes 120, 161 and 186 from a nearby stop
MacGregor park ‘n’ ride Many more bus routes from Upper Mount Gravatt station, including M1

On its event page Translink gives distances to nearby park ‘n’ rides: MacGregor 2km, Upper Mount Gravatt 2.7km and Klumpp Road 1.8km. Translink says to check with the event promoters about on-site parking at the arena.

Can I park at Nissan Arena?

The venue says pre-paid parking is available on site for major event days, and single-event parking passes are sold through Ticketek when you buy your tickets. Entry to the arena’s car park on event days is via Mains Road only. The venue warns that car parking sells out quickly for major events. Outside event days, it describes the multi-storey car park as Translink’s largest park ‘n’ ride in Brisbane, with about 600 free spaces, and says any park ‘n’ ride closures are announced at least two weeks before a major event.

The venue’s FAQs say accessible parking is limited on event days and is for holders of Queensland or Australian disability parking permits. An accessibility ticket does not guarantee a space, so bookings are essential and are made by calling the arena in business hours on (07) 3184 6899. The arena’s address is 590 Mains Road, Nathan, in the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre precinct.

What if I am coming home by train late?

Translink lists late-night track closures on all lines across inner-city stations on Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 November, starting at 9:30pm each night and ending with the last service. Timetabled railbuses run between Bowen Hills and Albion to Boggo Road and Milton stations, and Caboolture, Ipswich, Kippa-Ring, Nambour and Springfield line trains run express between Milton and Albion via the Exhibition loop. The notice also says the Shorncliffe line is affected. The Translink event page does not say when the game finishes, so check the journey planner for your trip home if you expect to be on a train after 9:30pm. Bikes and e-scooters are not permitted on railbuses, and Queensland Rail’s assistance line is 13 16 17 during business hours.

What can I bring in?

The venue’s Prohibited Items and Conditions of Entry pages set these rules, which are not specific to this game.

  • Plastic water bottles of 1.25L or less are allowed, sealed or unsealed, and staff may ask you to open them.
  • Homemade food such as sandwiches and biscuits is allowed, along with multipack-size small packets of chips, lollies and chocolate. Commercial takeaway food, such as McDonald’s, Red Rooster or Subway, is not.
  • Alcohol cannot be brought in and will not be cloaked. Nissan Arena is a non-smoking venue, and on-the-spot fines may apply.
  • Banners and flags larger than 1.2m by 1.2m are not permitted unless arranged beforehand. Drums, whistles, helium balloons, laser pointers, stickers and inflated balls are not allowed.
  • Bags and other items must fit under your seat; larger items such as prams and big eskies must be cloaked.
  • Umbrellas can be brought in but must not be opened inside the seating bowl or concourse.
  • Pass-outs are available at the main entry doors A, B and C.

The conditions of entry say people under 12 are not admitted unless supervised by an adult aged 18 or over, and that tickets bought from anyone other than an authorised ticket agent may be refused. If a game is not sold out, tickets can be bought at the box office on the level 1 plaza on game day.

What accessibility facilities are there?

The venue’s accessibility page lists 40 wheelchair positions and 50 escort seats, spread around the arena. Doors B and C on the raised plaza and Door A at the Corporate Guest Entrance are the fully accessible main entries, and lifts connect all levels. Turnstiles are set up for wheelchair access at every door and hearing loops are installed in the venue.

Where can I buy tickets?

The venue’s event page links to Ticketek for tickets, and the venue’s August news item says tickets went on sale then. For how the Bullets’ other game this week works, see our guide to the Bullets v Taipans game at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on 29 October.
