Moreton Bay Eco Fest is free, needs no ticket and runs from 9am to 1pm on Saturday 7 November 2026 at the UniSC Moreton Bay campus in Petrie, right next to Petrie station. The City of Moreton Bay presents it, and Craig Reucassel, who is known for ABC’s The War on Waste, is listed as attending.
This guide uses the City of Moreton Bay event page and the Visit Moreton Bay listing, both read in late October 2026. Petrie is on Queensland time (AEST, UTC+10), which has no daylight saving.

What time is Moreton Bay Eco Fest and where is it?
The event runs from 9am to 1pm on Saturday 7 November 2026 at UniSC Moreton Bay, 1 Moreton Parade, Petrie QLD 4502. Both pages describe it as a free family day out about sustainability, eco-friendly living and smarter waste management.

What is on at the Eco Fest?
The Visit Moreton Bay listing says visitors can bust recycling myths, learn eco-friendly tips and find practical ways to live sustainably. It describes interactive, hands-on workshops and experiences, and says workshops are available for children and adults. It also lists sustainability experts, including Craig Reucassel, who is best known for looking at Australia’s rubbish problem on ABC’s The War on Waste.
The program is not out yet. The listing has not published the full program yet, so the workshop names, session times and exhibitors are not confirmed. The program heading on that page reads “2027”, which looks like a typo for this year’s event, so treat the date on the page header, Saturday 7 November, as the one that counts. The organisers point people to the Facebook event for updates, where you can mark yourself as interested.

Do I need a ticket, and what does it cost?
No. The FAQ says the event is free and that no tickets are required. If you want a drink while you are there, the City of Moreton Bay page says Unitywater will provide free chilled filtered water refills, so it asks you to bring a reusable water bottle.
How do I get to UniSC Moreton Bay by train?
The organisers say the campus is right next to Petrie station and call it a quick 50c train ride. The FAQ puts the distance at about 400 metres and says local buses also serve the campus. The Petrie station list on the FAQ names these lines and services: Brisbane City, Caboolture, Gympie, Ipswich, Nambour, Redcliffe Peninsula, Rosewood and Springfield.
| Option | What the organisers say |
|---|---|
| Train | Petrie station, about 400 metres from the campus |
| Bus | Local buses serve the campus; routes are not listed |
| Car | Free parking on site |
Train times for Saturday 7 November are not in the event pages. Use the Translink Journey Planner or the Translink service updates page before you leave, because planned works can change Saturday timetables.

Where can I park?
Both pages say free parking is available on site at the UniSC Moreton Bay campus. The pages do not give a number of spaces or say whether the car park fills up, so the train is the safer plan if you want to skip any queue.
What can I bring, and what is banned?
The FAQ is specific about what is allowed on the day.
| Question | Answer on the event page |
|---|---|
| Dogs | No, dogs will not be allowed |
| Food and drink from home | Yes, permitted, but the event is alcohol free and glass free |
| Smoking and vaping | Not allowed; the event is smoke and vape free, so smokers should move away from it |
| First aid | Trained first aiders on site; ask event staff or a volunteer |
The banned items list says these will be refused, and anyone found with them can be removed from the site: weapons of any kind, tents and shade structures, pepper spray or mace, alcohol, illicit substances, fireworks and flares, glass bottles, and electric scooters, skateboards and bikes. Mobility devices and aids are fine. Event staff can also refuse anything else they consider unsuitable.

Can I sell at the Eco Fest or contact the organisers?
The event page has a vendor information link, and the FAQ names events.support@temb.com.au as the contact for vendors. For general event enquiries the City of Moreton Bay lists Tourism and Events Moreton Bay on (07) 3453 1400.
