Parking at Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport is free for under one hour, then $6 for one to two hours, and the airport says you do not need to book ahead. Take a paper ticket at the entry, keep it safe, and pay at the pay station inside the terminal beside baggage claim with a Visa or Mastercard. Rates are as of 7 November 2026, from the airport’s own Parking and Drop Off page.

This guide uses the airport’s official pages, all read on Saturday 7 November 2026. The airport sets the rates and rules, so its website is the page to trust if anything below changes.

Where is Wellcamp Airport, and how far is it from Toowoomba?

The airport’s Maps page gives the address as 1511 Toowoomba-Cecil Plains Road, Wellcamp, Queensland 4350, and says it sits 25 minutes’ drive from the Toowoomba CBD. It describes the airport as a short drive from Toowoomba, Dalby, Warwick and many other Darling Downs towns. The page also offers downloadable maps of the highways leading to the airport, directions from the Toowoomba CBD, the parking and drop-off zones, and a terminal and accessibility map.

For drivers coming from the east, the airport’s Driving from Ipswich page says the Toowoomba Bypass brings Ipswich, Gatton and Laidley within one hour of the airport. It pitches Wellcamp as an alternative to Brisbane Airport for Ipswich and Lockyer Valley residents, with no city traffic, lower tolls and long-term parking. The page names direct services to Sydney, Melbourne, Townsville and Western Queensland and says Qantas flies daily to Sydney; the airport’s pages do not give a timetable.

How much does it cost to park at Wellcamp Airport?

The Parking and Drop Off page says short- and long-stay parking are currently in the same area, and that the car park is monitored 24 hours a day. It lists two rate tables.

Short-stay (same day) Cost
Less than 1 hour Free
1 to 2 hours $6
2 to 3 hours $8
3 to 4 hours $10
Over 4 hours until midnight $15
Long-stay (24-hour days) Cost
1 day $20
2 days $35
3 days $45
4 days $55
5 days $65
6 days $75
7 days $85
Each additional day $6

The airport notes that long-stay totals work on a 24-hour day running from midnight to midnight. That means a day is a calendar day, not 24 hours from the time you enter. If you want to book your parking ahead, the airport’s page says to email info@wellcampairport.com.au.

How do I pay for parking?

You take a paper ticket at the entry and keep it in a safe place. When you return, you insert the ticket into the pay station, which is in the terminal next to baggage claim, and pay by card. The airport accepts Visa and Mastercard only; the page says the system does not accept American Express, Diners Club or cash.

What are the rules at the drop-off zone?

Vehicles may stay in the drop-off zone at the front of the terminal for a maximum of two minutes. If you need longer, the airport says to park in the car park. For security reasons, a vehicle collecting or dropping off passengers must be attended at all times, and any vehicle left unattended may be towed away.

Rule What the airport says
Maximum stay 2 minutes
Unattended vehicles May be towed away
Need longer than 2 minutes Park in the car park (free under 1 hour)

The airport’s Accessible Services page adds that a set-down zone with single-level kerbside access is at the front of the terminal.

Can I get a taxi, a shuttle or a hire car?

The airport’s Car Hire, Taxis and Shuttle page says pre-booked airport transfers are available to and from Wellcamp from Toowoomba motels, businesses and residences. It lists ShuttleBug Private Hire and Transfers, which you can book online or by phone through the airport’s page.

A taxi courtesy phone is near the baggage carousel. The page points to Black & White Cabs, which takes bookings through an app or on 133 222.

Hire car company Phone listed by the airport
Europcar 13 13 90
SIXT 13 74 98
Avis 13 63 33
Budget 13 27 27

The airport says all major car hire companies are represented, but a desk may be unattended if there is no booking, and it recommends pre-booking any vehicle you need. Hire cars are parked in the main car park in branded bays for each company. When returning one, park it in that company’s bay and hand the keys to the agent on duty; if the desk is closed, use the key deposit area at each desk.

What time should I get to the airport?

The Prepare to Fly page says all airline check-in desks are at the entrance marked Arrivals. It recommends arriving at least one hour before your domestic flight, allowing a little extra time in peak travel season or if you have a medical or physical condition that needs special assistance. It also says to contact your airline about check-in times.

The page gives these tips for security screening:

Tip Why
Put loose items in your hand luggage, not your pockets Speeds up screening
Keep your laptop and phone easy to reach They go into a screening tray
Be ready to remove metal belt or shoe buckles and some jewellery They set off the alarm

On batteries, the airport says no more than 20 spare batteries in total are permitted per passenger for personal use, and no more than two spare lithium batteries over 100Wh and up to 160Wh. It says flammable liquids and gases cannot go on board as checked or carry-on luggage and will be confiscated at screening. Its examples of prohibited carry-on items include scissors, knives, sporting bats and clubs, letter openers, non-personal aerosols and toy imitation firearms; the Australian Government’s list on the Home Affairs website is the full one.

What is accessible at Wellcamp Airport?

The airport’s Accessible Services page says passengers who need help with check-in, baggage drop or boarding should tell their airline when they book. Accessible parking bays are available for people displaying Disability Parking Permits, in the bays closest to the terminal with single-level access to the pedestrian walkway, which has tactile guides.

Accessible bathrooms and parent rooms are on both the landside and the airside departure lounge. Airport Ambassadors meet most arriving and departing flights and offer assistance to passengers with mobility needs. The page links to the airport’s Disability Access Facilitation Plan and an Accessible Facilities Map. For travellers who cannot be scanned by a body scanner, it says to tell the Security Screening Officer, and it says medically prescribed devices and aids are not restricted on domestic and international flights as long as you carry supporting documentation from your medical practitioner.

Who do I contact at the airport?

The airport lists +61 7 4614 3200 and info@wellcampairport.com.au, at 1511 Toowoomba-Cecil Plains Road, Wellcamp, Queensland 4350. Its website carries a live flight status page, and the Qantas booking line it lists is 13 13 13.
