Parking at Nepean Hospital is free for the first 30 minutes, then costs $8.70 up to 1 hour, rising to a maximum daily fee of $25.80, and the car parks are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This guide combines the hospital’s parking page, its public transport page, its location page and the visitor guidelines from NSW Health, all checked on 7 November 2026.
How much does parking at Nepean Hospital cost?
Parking fees apply in all hospital campus car parks, at rates set under the NSW Ministry of Health Hospital Car Park Fees Policy and increased each year based on the Consumer Price Index. The car parks are operated by Secure Parking, and you pay at a pay station in the car park before you return to your car to leave. The standard rates, including GST, are:
| Time parked | Standard rate |
|---|---|
| First 30 minutes | Free |
| 30 minutes to 1 hour | $8.70 |
| 1 hour to 2 hours | $12.80 |
| 2 hours to 3 hours | $17.30 |
| 3 hours to 4 hours | $20.10 |
| 4 hours to 5 hours | $23.20 |
| 5 hours | $25.80 |
| Maximum daily fee | $25.80 |

Who gets the concession rate?
Concession rates apply to eligible patients and visitors parked in a gated public car park: holders of eligible government cards, and patients and their carers who attend on an ongoing basis for treatment. The concession rates are:
| Ticket | Concession rate |
|---|---|
| 0 to 3 hours | Free |
| Over 3 hours | $7.20 |
| 3 day ticket (multiple entries and exits in 3 days) | $14.40 |
| 7 day ticket (multiple entries and exits in 7 days) | $28.80 |
To get the rate, take your concession card, photo identification and parking ticket to one of four places: the Secure Parking office in the P5 Somerset Street multi-storey car park (Monday to Sunday, 6am to 10pm); the patient enquiries counter at the Building D entrance (Monday to Sunday, 7:30am to 8pm); outpatients reception in Building C, Level 1 (Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm); or the Nepean Cancer and Wellness Centre, for cancer care patients and carers only. Validate your parking before you go back to your car and exit.
Which car park should I use?
There are six parking areas on the campus:
| Car park | Entry | What the hospital says |
|---|---|---|
| P1 | Gate 2, Parker Street (The Northern Road) southbound | Lower levels are 3-hour time restricted Monday to Friday; all-day parking on upper levels |
| P2 | Gate 2, Parker Street southbound | Prioritised for patients and visitors with a disability or reduced mobility |
| P4 | Gate 3, Derby Street | No further detail given |
| P5 | Gate 5, Somerset Street | Lower levels 3-hour Monday to Friday; all-day on upper levels; convenient for the Emergency Department |
| P6 | Gate 8, Somerset Street | All-day parking; convenient for the Emergency Department |
| Building O car park | Gate 8, Somerset Street | Only for patients and carers attending the Nepean Cancer and Wellness Centre |
There are dedicated mobility parking spaces across the campus, and you must display the relevant NSW Government or other Australian government-issued mobility parking permit. There is lift or ramp access to all clinical service buildings.

Where can I be dropped off, and how do I reach the Emergency Department?
The Emergency Department is on the ground floor of Building A, with entry through Gate 7 on Somerset Street. That entrance gives public pedestrian and vehicle access to the Emergency Department only. The hospital also lists 10-minute pick-up and drop-off zones, where no parking is allowed:
- Emergency Department: vehicle entry off Somerset Street via Gate 7
- Building C and Building D: vehicle entry off Parker Street southbound via Gate 2
- Building E: vehicle entry off Somerset Street via Gate 6
- Building F Mental Health Centre: vehicle entry off Derby Street via Gate 3
- Building G Mental Health Triage and Assessment Centre, and Building J Oral Health: entry off Somerset Street via Gate 6
- Building O Nepean Cancer and Wellness Centre: entry off Somerset Street via Gate 8
The discharge lounge pick-up zones are at the Building E entrance on Level 2 (Gate 6, Somerset Street) and the Building C entrance on Level 1 (Gate 2, Parker Street southbound). The hospital also notes a change to Building A access: the page says that from Wednesday 3 December 2025 the temporary pedestrian linkway bridge to Building A would close, with a new temporary access via Level 1 of Building E, outside Pathology, marked by yellow wayfinding signs. It says this would stay in place for several months until a permanent, more direct connection is built. The page is not dated, so we do not know whether the arrangement is still in place in November 2026.

Can I get to Nepean Hospital by train or bus?
The hospital says Penrith station, on the T1 Blue Mountains line, is the most convenient option by public transport, and that a bus can take you from the station to the hospital. Buses 774, 775 and 776 can drop you outside Nepean Hospital on Derby Street. There is a bus stop on Derby Street with frequent services to Penrith station and bus interchange, Penrith shopping centres, Western Sydney University, Kingswood TAFE and other places in the region. Alternatively, the hospital is approximately a 15 minute walk (1.2km) from Kingswood station, on the T1 suburban line. Transport for NSW has tickets, timetables, disability access and service alerts, so use its trip planner for times. Taxi, ride share and community transport services use the same 10-minute drop-off and pick-up zones.

What are the visiting rules?
NSW Health says each patient can have up to 4 visitors per day, with visiting hours between 10am and 8pm every day. Visitors must not visit with symptoms of COVID-19 or other respiratory infections, such as a cough, fever, sore throat or runny nose in the last 7 days, and must not have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the last 7 days. Numbers and hours vary for some wards: the Emergency Department welcomes two visitors or support persons, the children’s ward welcomes parents or carers 24 hours, and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Special Care Nursery welcome parents 24 hours a day. Speak to staff or the Nurse Unit Manager on duty for your ward. For general enquiries, call (02) 4734 2000; for parking complaints or compliments, call (02) 4734 4420. If a patient has had a clinical review in hospital and you, your family or carer are still concerned about their condition, the hospital runs a Raise It service on 1800 777 333, day or night, and says a responder will review the patient within 10 minutes of the call being made.
