How much is parking at Dandenong Market?

From 1 July 2026, the City of Greater Dandenong charges $1.50 per hour for parking at the market, with a two-hour limit. The limit applies from the moment your car stops in the space, and the signs show the time limit that applies. The market also notes that three-hour parking is available across the road on Clow Street.

Question Answer from the market and council
How many spaces? 1,000, including plenty of undercover spots
When is the car park open? On market days only
Where do I enter? From Clow Street or King Street
What does it cost? $1.50 per hour from 1 July 2026
How long can I stay? Two hours in the market car park; three hours on Clow Street across the road
Parking with a pram? The King Street car park next to the Fruit and Veg sheds

How do I pay, and do I need a ticket?

Parking at the market is fully ticketless. You type in your vehicle registration number when you pay, and no paper ticket is needed. You can pay with the EasyPark, PayStay or OPark apps, or with a credit card, digital wallet or coins at the designated meters. Payment options vary by location, but the price is the same however you pay. If a card or digital wallet reader is not working, the market says you must pay with coins or an app. The council page says the same ticketless options apply to the multi-deck car parks at Thomas Street and Walker Street in Dandenong.

Can I get to the market by train?

Yes. The market’s FAQ says Dandenong Train Station is a short 15 minute walk from the market. The page does not name train lines, frequencies or bus routes. If you arrive by bike, the market lists bike racks in the Northern Car Park and on Level 2 of the multi-level car park.

Where is accessible parking?

The market says accessible parking is in all the car parks off King Street and Clow Street, including the multi-level car park, where ramp access is available. Its Visit page says the lift is currently being upgraded. The accessible spaces are free as long as the correct permit sticker is displayed. The market’s two pages do not agree on the number of spaces: the Visit page says 13 and the FAQ says 12. Accessible toilets are available, and the council runs the Accessible Parking Permit Scheme for people who need a permit.
