Two Perth shopping centres hold a Santa arrival parade on the same morning: Westfield Booragoon and Lakeside Joondalup, both on Saturday 7 November 2026 from 10am to 11am. They are on opposite sides of the Perth metropolitan area, so you can only go to one. This guide puts what each centre has published side by side so you can choose, and says what neither has said yet. Western Australia does not use daylight saving, so every time here is Perth time (AWST, UTC+8).

What is the Westfield Booragoon parade route?

Westfield publishes the route by landmark. The parade starts at 10am at Santa’s Sleigh, opposite Woolworths, and Santa “will sing and dance his way through the centre”. The stops Westfield names, in order, are:

  1. Garden City News
  2. Around the corner by MECCA and Priceline
  3. Towards Apple and Kmart
  4. Past Myer and back towards Boost Juice
  5. Arrival at the Big Red Chair by 11am

After Santa arrives, the elves, giant presents and skating baubles keep roaming the centre. Westfield lists that roaming entertainment as running from 10am to 11am, starting at Santa’s Sleigh, and says it continues after Santa is in his chair.

What is the Lakeside Joondalup parade route?

Lakeside’s page is shorter on detail. It says the parade starts in the North Mall and Santa “journeys through the Centre” before he settles at his throne in Lakeside Wonderland. It names no stops along the way, so work out your spot from the centre map or ask the Customer Service Desk on (08) 9300 3888. The centre calls it Santa’s “annual dazzling arrival parade”, and the Western Australia Fire and Emergency Services Concert Band is on the line-up.

Lakeside also lists two other Christmas attractions with “select dates in November, December” and no times: Carolling Reindeers (Dasher and Dancer, who sing festive tunes) and the Let it Snow Globe. Neither page gives a date, so do not plan around them yet.

Where do I park for the Santa parade?

Westfield Booragoon Lakeside Joondalup
Cost Free Free, up to four hours
Size Over 4,200 bays Over 4,800 bays, about 1,500 undercover
Rules Parking terms and conditions are on the centre’s parking page PES Retail monitors the car parks; overstay tickets can be appealed to PES Retail, and you may need receipts
Arrival-time guide None found “Popular arrival times” graph on the parking page, updated every fifteen minutes

At Lakeside, the four-hour limit is plenty for a one-hour parade and a shop, but it applies to everyone and is enforced. Keep your receipts if you stay near the limit. The centre says it has partnered with PES Retail to monitor the car parks and deter non-shoppers, which is why overstays are ticketed.

How do I get to Westfield Booragoon?

Westfield says the centre is on Riseley Street, between Leach Highway and Canning Highway, less than 15 minutes from the city and Fremantle and 20 minutes from Cottesloe and Claremont. Its directions are:

  • From the north: take the Canning Highway exit off the Kwinana Freeway heading south, turn right onto Canning Highway, then left onto Riseley Street.
  • From the south: take the Leach Highway exit off the Kwinana Freeway heading north, turn right onto Riseley Street.

The Getting Here page gives no bus or train routes, so use the Transperth journey planner if you are not driving.

How do I get to Lakeside Joondalup?

Lakeside sits beside Joondalup railway station, and its own Santa photo page uses the station as a landmark: the “customer entry doors” are in front of the Joondalup Train Station. Its Getting Here page did not display directions when it was checked, so the station link comes only from that photo page. The Transperth journey planner has train times from your suburb.

Can I get a photo with Santa?

Both centres offer photo sessions that must be booked online. They are separate from the parade, and the centres’ pages do not say what the sessions cost.

Lakeside’s Pet Santa sessions run from 5:30pm to 9pm on Monday 16, Tuesday 17, Wednesday 18, Friday 20, Monday 23, Tuesday 24, Wednesday 25 and Monday 30 November, then Tuesday 1, Wednesday 2 and Friday 4 December. The best parking for Pet Santa is the South Mall ground floor car park off Collier Pass, with entry through the service corridor in front of the trolley corral, where a security guard helps. The Sensitive Santa parking is the outdoor car park next to the train station, also off Collier Pass.

At Booragoon, pet owners wait at the designated entrance outside the centre until a staff member escorts them to the set. Westfield’s page says pets must be on a lead or in a cage, must not go on escalators (lifts reach all levels), and that owners bring their own waste bags because waste may not go in centre bins. Lakeside’s Santa experiences are operated by Scene To Believe.

What are the centres’ opening hours around the parade?

Westfield Booragoon Lakeside Joondalup
Thursday 5 November Thursday hours were 9am to 9pm on the page (29 October); 5 November not yet shown 9am to 9pm
Saturday 7 November Not yet shown; Saturday 31 October is 9am to 5pm 9am to 5pm
Sunday 8 November Not yet shown; Sunday 1 November is 11am to 5pm 11am to 5pm

Booragoon’s page only listed the week to Tuesday 3 November when it was checked, so its 7 November hours are not confirmed; the Saturday and Sunday pattern in the table is the only evidence. Both centres say individual store hours can vary, and the parade ends at 11am, well before closing.

Is there anything neither centre has said?

  • Neither centre has published a road closure, a traffic plan or a wet-weather arrangement for the parade.
  • Neither page says where the best viewing spots are, or whether spots are held. Arrive before 10am.
  • Lakeside gives no stops along its route, and Booragoon does not say how long each stretch takes.
  • Booragoon’s parking page showed only headings when checked, so the detail on its parking terms is unconfirmed.
