Carols at Scarborough is on Sunday 13 December 2026 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Scarborough Amphitheatre on The Esplanade, and it is free. The organisers say to grab your spot from 5:30pm, and the City of Stirling’s own advice is to catch a Transperth bus, walk, ride or scoot, because parking is limited. Times here are Perth time (AWST, UTC+8); Western Australia does not use daylight saving.
This guide is based on the City of Stirling’s event listing and its Scarborough parking and transport page, both read on Monday 2 November 2026. We have not been to the event, and the listing does not publish a minute-by-minute program, so we say so where details are missing.
What is Carols at Scarborough and who runs it?
The City of Stirling listing describes it as a community event to celebrate the holiday season against the backdrop of the Indian Ocean. It is presented by Far East Organization and hosted by Scarborough Beach Association, a volunteer-run organisation, working with its charity partner Neuromuscular WA. The City of Stirling and Lotterywest support it. The listing tags it as a family event and as free.

What is on the program?
| What | What the listing says |
|---|---|
| Hosts | NOVA’s Ross Wallman and 6PR’s Simon Beaumont |
| Performers named | The Australian Army Band, Space2Sing “and more” |
| Santa | A visit from Santa, thanks to FIFO Wings |
| Finale | Fireworks over the beach, brought by The Sandbar Scarborough |
| Carols booklets and candles | Available on the night; all proceeds support people living with neuromuscular conditions in WA |
The listing does not give set times, so we cannot say when Santa arrives or when the fireworks start. With the event running until 8:30pm and fireworks named as the finish, plan on staying to the end if the fireworks are your reason for going.

Can I bring a rug, and when should I get there?
The organisers’ words are “Grab a picnic rug, round up the crew and come sing with us” and “Be sure to grab your spot from 5:30pm”. That is an hour before the 6:30pm start. They do not say whether any area is reserved or whether chairs are allowed, so check the event’s channels before you pack a camping chair.
Is it accessible?
The City lists the event as a wheelchair accessible event. The organisers say wheelchair seating is available and ask people to message them to save a spot. They also say Auslan interpreters from Auslan Stage Left will be on the night.

How do I get there and where do I park?
The City says parking is limited and points people to its Scarborough parking and transport options page. These are the options that page lists.
| Option | What the City says |
|---|---|
| Bus 990 | High frequency service between Glendalough Station and Scarborough Beach Bus Station via Scarborough Beach Road, with extra 990 services from Perth Station |
| Buses 410 and 421 | Run regularly from Stirling Train Station |
| SURFCat free shuttle | Between Stirling Train Station and Scarborough Beach, every 10 minutes between 4:50am and 11:30pm daily (times approximate) |
| Walking or riding | The coastal footpath is a shared path; Manning Street and Moorland Street are 30km/h Safe Active Streets linking Scarborough to Stirling Train Station; bike racks available |
| E-scooters | Beam e-scooters can be used in the precinct; the app shows locations |
| Rideshare and taxi | At peak times, ask to be dropped on the eastern side of West Coast Highway to avoid congestion |
If you do drive, the City runs parking signage at Scarborough and Trigg that shows the number of bays available in real time, and the same figures appear on its page, so look before you leave home. The page also suggests parking along a bus route and catching the bus in during peak times. We have not confirmed whether any carpark has special event pricing or closures on 13 December. The City’s page also still carries a note about road works at West Coast Highway and Scarborough Beach Road in 2025, which we have not repeated because it is from last year.

For bus times on the night, use the Transperth Journey Planner. The City’s community patrol number is 1300 365 356 and its main number is (08) 9205 8555.

Are there other Christmas events in Stirling?
The City also runs the Stirling Christmas Lights from Friday 27 November to Sunday 27 December, and our Stirling Christmas Lights guide lists all six sites, including the Scarborough Beach Precinct. The City’s Christmas page also lists Inglewood Christmas Carols on 4 December.
