VicRoads is closing its Dandenong Customer Service Centre and its Pakenham Testing Centre after Friday 13 November 2026, and moving all of their services to a new centre at 33 Exchange Drive, Pakenham, which is scheduled to open on Monday 16 November. This brief uses the VicRoads page about the new centre, read on 28 October 2026. Times are Melbourne local time (AEDT).

When does each VicRoads site close and open?
| Site | What happens | Date |
|---|---|---|
| Dandenong Customer Service Centre | Operates until the end of the week, then closes | Friday 13 November 2026 |
| Pakenham Testing Centre | Operates until the end of the week, then closes | Friday 13 November 2026 |
| New Pakenham Customer Service Centre, 33 Exchange Drive | All services available | Monday 16 November 2026 |
VicRoads describes the new centre as purpose-built. It brings the services of the Dandenong centre and the Pakenham testing centre together in one place. Once the new centre opens, both old sites close.
What can I do at the new centre?
VicRoads says the new centre will provide the full range of registration, licensing and testing services. The services currently available at Dandenong and at the Pakenham Testing Centre will be available there after the move. That includes learner, probationary and licence tests, which move from the Pakenham Testing Centre to the new centre.

What if I already have a booking or a driving test?
If your appointment or driving test is on or after Monday 16 November, go to the new location at 33 Exchange Drive, Pakenham. VicRoads says the address is on the confirmation you received when you booked, and for driving tests it is on the confirmation email. Some VicRoads services need an appointment and others do not; the VicRoads page links to its appointment booking page so you can check the services you need.
What are the opening hours and parking?
VicRoads says the new centre will keep the same hours as all of its customer service centres, 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. It says there is ample parking for customers, appropriately located parking for people with accessibility requirements, bicycle parking and 3 EV charging carparks.

Where else can I go before the new centre opens?
VicRoads says customers can keep using other nearby locations, and many registration and licensing transactions can be done online through the myVicRoads portal.
| Option | Note from VicRoads |
|---|---|
| myVicRoads online | Many registration and licensing transactions can be completed online |
| Frankston Customer Service Centre | Listed as a nearby location |
| Heatherton Customer Service Centre | Listed as a nearby location |
| Ringwood Customer Service Centre | Listed as a nearby location |
| Australia Post Dandenong | Limited VicRoads services available |
The VicRoads website also has a search for nearby locations and the services each one offers.

Why is VicRoads moving to Pakenham?
VicRoads says the new centre has been designed to support current and future customer demand in the region, while bringing customer and testing services together in one location.
What does VicRoads not say yet?
The VicRoads page says more information about the accessibility features of the new site will be available before opening, and that it will publish updates and important dates closer to the transition. It does not give a phone number, public transport directions or a map for the new site, so none of that is covered here.
