Brimbank City Council’s events website lists four free Halloween events for children across Sunshine, St Albans and Keilor Park: one on Friday 30 October and three on Saturday 31 October 2026. Melbourne is on daylight saving time in October (AEDT), and all times below are local times. On Saturday the three events run at 11am, 2pm and 4pm, so a family can plan a day around one or two of them.

This guide is built from the council’s four event pages and the organiser’s own page for the Sunshine street party, checked on Monday 26 October 2026.

Which Brimbank Halloween events are on this weekend?

Event Day and time Where What the page lists
Halloween in Glengala Friday 30 October, 4pm to 6pm Near 76 Glengala Road, Sunshine Children’s crafts, face painting and Pass the Parcel entertainment
Halloween in St Albans Town Centre Saturday 31 October, 11am to 1pm St Albans Library Square, near 71A Alfrieda Street, St Albans Arts and crafts, face painting, glitter tattoos, bubble and balloon creations
Sunshine Halloween Kids Street Party Saturday 31 October, 2pm to 4pm Hampshire Road, from Bennett Place to The Precinct Arcade, Sunshine Trick or treating, treasure hunt, lolly dens, face painting, costume competition
Halloween in Fosters Road Saturday 31 October, 4pm to 6pm Near 11 Fosters Road, Keilor Park Halloween-themed crafts and face painting

All four pages say the events are free and ask children to come in costume. The council’s page for the Glengala event describes children’s crafts, face painting and Pass the Parcel entertainment. The Keilor Park page lists Halloween-themed crafts and face painting.

What happens at the Sunshine Halloween Kids Street Party?

The Sunshine Business Association runs the Sunshine street party, with support from Brimbank City Council and Melb Airport Rail, according to its event page. It runs from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday 31 October along Hampshire Road, from Bennett Place to The Precinct Arcade. The organiser lists these parts of the afternoon:

  • Roaming ghouls and scary characters, plus shops trick or treating. Look for each shop’s “Participating Business” poster, the council page says.
  • Three Halloween Lolly Dens, at 275 Hampshire Road (Bennett Place, opposite the library), 247 Hampshire Road (the Civic Green, outside the restaurants) and 254 Hampshire Road (inside The Precinct Arcade).
  • Face painting dens on the Civic Green grass area. The council’s page also lists Bennett Place.
  • A small stage at Bennett Place beside Sunshine Library, with music from Cassidy Le Creme.
  • The Best Halloween Kids Costume competition, decided on the stage at 3:30pm.
  • A Halloween Treat Hunt for kids: search shop windows for competition posters and visit all three lolly dens.

The council’s page adds that there are lollies, treats and free mandarins as a healthier option.

How does the Halloween Treat Hunt work?

The organiser’s page says children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and must check in at the treasure hunt marquee at 275 Hampshire Road, on the Civic Green near the library. You scan a QR code there to register, start the hunt and follow the map to find 12 posters in 12 shop windows. When the hunt is finished, children return to the marquee for a chance to win one of five prizes.

The prize draw is at the stage, and the organiser says you must be there to win or the prize goes to the next correct entry. The two pages give different draw times: the organiser says 3:45pm and the council’s page says 3:50pm. Because the organiser runs the hunt, go by 3:45pm.

Is any road closed in Sunshine on Saturday?

Yes. Both pages say Bennett Place, at Sunshine Library, is closed to traffic from midday to 5pm on Saturday 31 October. The stage and the lolly den opposite the library are on that block. The pages do not name a detour or say which other streets are affected.

What is on in St Albans and Keilor Park?

The St Albans event is on Saturday morning, 11am to 1pm, at St Albans Library Square near 71A Alfrieda Street. The council’s page lists arts and crafts, Halloween face painting, glitter tattoos and bubble and balloon creations, and says the activities are funded by Brimbank City Council as part of its “Think. Shop. Buy. Dine – and Enjoy Local” campaign. It also says the activities may change because of bad weather and state regulations.

The Keilor Park event, Halloween in Fosters Road, is on Saturday from 4pm to 6pm and offers Halloween crafts and face painting. The council’s page body gives the location as near 11 Fosters Road, Keilor Park. Its location field repeats the Glengala address, near 76 Glengala Road, which does not match the Fosters Road address in the page body. Go by the Fosters Road address, and check the council’s page again before you leave.

Can I get to more than one event on Saturday?

Going by the listed times alone, St Albans ends at 1pm and Sunshine starts at 2pm, which leaves an hour between them. Sunshine finishes at 4pm and Keilor Park starts at 4pm, so you could not attend both in full. None of the pages gives travel times between the suburbs, so work out the drive or the trip on the Journey Planner for your own start point.

If you want Then
A treat hunt and costume competition Sunshine, 2pm to 4pm, with both at the stage
A morning event St Albans, 11am to 1pm
A Friday after-school event Glengala, 4pm to 6pm on 30 October
A late-afternoon event Keilor Park, 4pm to 6pm on 31 October

What about parking and public transport?

None of the four pages gives parking or public transport directions, so this guide does not either. Each page gives a street address, and the Sunshine page says Bennett Place is closed from midday to 5pm. For a train, tram or bus trip, enter the address in the Journey Planner on the Transport Victoria website. For a drive, read the street signs on arrival.

Is there anything else on in Brimbank soon?

The council’s events site also lists the Festive Fun Day on Sunday 29 November 2026, 11am to 3pm in the Clarke Street car park in Sunshine, and the St Albans Christmas Magic with Santa on Friday 11 December from 11am to 2pm. The Festive Fun Day page says more details are to come, so this guide leaves the program for a later update.
