Santa’s Arrival Parade at Orion Springfield Central is on Saturday 7 November 2026 from 9:00am to 9:30am, it is free to watch, and parking at the centre is free.

This guide uses the Orion Springfield Central event, parking and trading hours pages, plus the Visit Ipswich What’s On article of 26 October 2026, all checked on 28 October 2026. Times are Queensland times, with no daylight saving.

What is the Wonder Full Santa’s Arrival Parade?

Orion calls the parade the official launch of Christmas at the centre for 2026, under the name Wonder Full: Santa’s Arrival Parade. The event page describes Santa, “Christmas character friends” and local community members making their way up a closed-off Main Street and down Town Walk. Visit Ipswich’s November What’s On article lists the same date and the 9am start.

Detail What Orion says
Date Saturday 7 November 2026
Time 9:00am to 9:30am
Start Eastern side of Main Street (ANZ and St George Banks)
Route Up Main Street to Town Walk, then down past Event Cinemas to the Santa cabins
Finish Near the Mega Playground, passing the Santa Set
Cost Free

The page tells visitors to arrive early to secure a viewing spot and to find a place along Town Walk. It does not name a best viewing spot in Main Street or give a count of floats or performers.

Where should I stand to watch?

Orion describes the route rather than viewing spots. The parade starts on Main Street near the ANZ and St George Banks, runs up to Town Walk, and then heads down past Event Cinemas to the Santa cabins, ending near the Mega Playground. Anywhere along that route gives a view, and the page’s own advice is to arrive early. Because the parade lasts 30 minutes from 9:00am to 9:30am, there is little time to move once it has started.

Is parking free, and how do I get there without a car?

Orion’s parking page says the centre has over 3,000 car parks, the majority undercover, and that all parking is free of charge. The page does not say how full the car parks get on a Saturday morning, and Orion publishes no event-day parking plan. The centre opens at 9:00am on Saturday according to its trading hours page, the same time the parade starts, so allow time to park and walk to Main Street.

How you travel What Orion’s parking page says
Car Over 3,000 spaces, most undercover, free
Train Springfield Central station is within easy walking distance of the centre
Bus Interchange behind Aldi and Spotlight in the Lower Ground Carpark; Westside routes 526, 534 and 528 are listed
Taxi Yellow Cabs rank outside ANZ Bank and Orion Hotel

For exact times to and from the centre, Orion points visitors to Translink on 13 12 30 or the Translink website. We did not find a Translink notice for 7 November on 28 October, so check the journey planner for track work before you travel by train. Our guide to the Ipswich and Springfield weekend track closure covers the 30 October to 1 November weekend only.

What else is on at Orion for Christmas?

Orion’s Santa Photography page says Santa photo bookings run from Monday 2 November until Christmas Eve at Santa’s Cottage on Town Walk, with sessions listed as Classic Santa, Santa and Mrs Claus together, pet photos, sensitive sessions and Auslan Santa. Prices start from $24.95. December bookings are listed as opening towards the end of November. The page’s status label and its text disagree on whether booking is open yet, so check the booking page for current availability before you plan around a time.

Orion also runs Markets on Main Street on the third Sunday of each month, with free entry and Main Street closed to vehicles for the day. The remaining 2026 dates are Sunday 15 November and Sunday 20 December. The market is a separate event from the parade.

What is on nearby that morning?

Visit Ipswich’s November article lists the Summer Land Camels Christmas Markets on 7 November, and the Ipswich Plant and Lifestyle Fair at the Nicholas Street Precinct on 6 and 7 November, which it describes as free. Neither is part of Orion’s parade; check each organiser’s page for hours before you plan a second stop.
