The Campbelltown City Council Moonlight Markets are on this Friday, 6 November 2026, from 5:30pm to 9:30pm at Thorndon Park in Paradise. Entry is free, there are up to 100 craft and fashion stalls, food vans, music and children’s activities, and you can park in the car park off Hamilton Terrace or on the oval beyond it. Dogs are not allowed in the park (registered assistance dogs are permitted).
This guide follows the council’s Moonlight Markets page, its visitor information page and its Thorndon Park page, all read on 3 November 2026. Where the pages do not answer a question, we say so.
When are the Campbelltown Moonlight Markets?
The council holds the markets on the first Friday of November, December, February and March, from 5:30pm to 9:30pm. It lists four dates for this season:
| Date | Time |
|---|---|
| Friday 6 November 2026 | 5:30pm to 9:30pm |
| Friday 4 December 2026 | 5:30pm to 9:30pm |
| Friday 5 February 2027 | 5:30pm to 9:30pm |
| Friday 5 March 2027 | 5:30pm to 9:30pm |
There is no market in January. The council describes the markets as a free family event held in Thorndon Park, and says thousands of people attend from all over Adelaide. The markets are held under the council’s own name, and the page notes that the Moonlight Markets and Flavours of Campbelltown Food Trail names are registered marks.

What is at the Moonlight Markets?
Each market has up to 100 artisan craft and fashion stalls. The council says it also showcases the vendors of the Flavours of Campbelltown Food Trail, plus a number of food vans. Music, entertainment and children’s activities are part of the evening, and the council suggests visiting each month to find a good meal, a local treasure and the sun going down over the reservoir.
| What | What the council says |
|---|---|
| Stalls | Up to 100 artisan craft and fashion stalls |
| Food | Flavours of Campbelltown Food Trail vendors and a number of food vans |
| Drinks | Beer and wine are available for purchase |
| Entertainment | Music, entertainment and children’s activities |
| Play area | The Thorndon Park playground is a feature of the markets |
| Cost | Free |
The council’s pages do not name individual stallholders, bands or activities for 6 November. The stalls change at every market, so the council cannot publish a map; it asks you to see the information stall at each market. If you want to find a particular stallholder you met earlier, the council says to email campbelltown@moonlightmarkets.com.au, describe the stallholder and what they were selling, and it will do its best to find their details.

Can I bring my own food and drink?
You can bring a picnic. The council says families are able to bring their own supplies to have a picnic at the markets. You cannot bring your own alcohol: the council says the event is licensed and no BYO is allowed. Beer and wine are on sale at the markets.
The council also says the markets have a variety of the best local food businesses taking part. It does not list a menu or a vendor line-up for this date.
Where do I park at the Moonlight Markets?
The council says parking is available in the car park adjacent to Thorndon Park off Hamilton Terrace, Paradise, and that parking is also available on the oval, which is through the car park. The council’s Thorndon Park page describes a large sealed car park with over 150 spaces, including 6 disability spaces, entered at the intersection of Hamilton Terrace and Stradbroke Road.
| Option | What the council says |
|---|---|
| Car park | Adjacent to Thorndon Park off Hamilton Terrace; over 150 spaces including 6 disability spaces |
| Oval | Parking is also available on the oval, reached through the car park |
| Entrance | At the intersection of Hamilton Terrace and Stradbroke Road |
There is one point the council has not reconciled in public. Its Thorndon Park page says the car park is locked between sunset and sunrise each day. The markets run until 9:30pm, and the markets page names the car park as the place to park. The council’s pages do not say how the car park is handled on market nights. We have not assumed it stays open, and we have not assumed it closes at sunset. If you are driving, ask the council before you go on 08 8366 9222 (Monday to Friday, 8:45am to 5pm), or leave time to park on the oval.
The council also says the markets draw thousands of people, and that the large number of visitors makes the park’s barbecue areas very difficult to reach during the event. The page does not give a parking charge, and it names no time to arrive by.

Can I get to the Moonlight Markets by bus?
The council gives one public transport option. Take bus 176 from the west side of King William Street, next to Currie Street in the city. The council says the ride takes about 42 minutes. Get off at stop 29 on Gorge Road, take the first left onto Hamilton Terrace, and follow the road in a north-easterly direction for about 3 minutes. The council says the market will be on your left.
| Step | What the council says |
|---|---|
| Board | Bus 176, west side of King William Street, adjacent to Currie Street |
| Ride | About 42 minutes |
| Get off | Stop 29, Gorge Road |
| Walk | First left onto Hamilton Terrace, north-east for about 3 minutes; the market is on your left |
The council’s page does not give a Friday-evening timetable or say whether the bus runs after the markets finish at 9:30pm. We have not checked the route against the Adelaide Metro journey planner, so check the evening timetable and your return trip there before you travel. The council names no other route, and the photos below show Paradise Interchange only for context.

Is there a play area for children?
Yes. The council says the Thorndon Park playground is a feature of the markets. It describes the playground as large and all-inclusive, with elements for all ages and abilities. The playground is named Paripardu, which the council says means river birds in Kaurna, and it is built around eight themes: Bird Song, Bird Watching, Eating, Flying, Gathering, Gliding and Treetops, Nesting and Plains, and Wading and Waterways.
The council’s Thorndon Park page lists features including a sky bridge and towers, a flying fox, a carousel, water play, trampolines, a parkour and ninja warrior course and a giant chess board. The accessible features include a liberty swing, which needs a Master Locksmith Access Key. The council says the key is in a lockbox at the playground, can be borrowed from the kiosk if it is open, or you can phone the council during business hours for the lockbox code. The council also lists a separate after-hours number on the park page; use the council’s page for it. The page does not say whether the kiosk opens on market nights. It says the kiosk is generally open on Saturdays and Sundays in summer and Sundays in winter, and that days and times vary with volunteer availability.
Can I bring a dog, a bike or a barbecue?
No dogs. The council says dogs are prohibited at all times in Thorndon Park, and its park page adds that bikes, fishing and swimming are prohibited at all times. Registered assistance dogs are permitted. The council also says barbecues are located in the park, but with the numbers attending the markets it would be very difficult to access the barbecue areas.
| Question | Council answer |
|---|---|
| Dogs | Prohibited at all times; registered assistance dogs are permitted |
| Bikes, fishing, swimming | Prohibited at all times (Thorndon Park page) |
| Own alcohol | No; the event is licensed and no BYO is allowed |
| Picnic | Yes, families may bring their own supplies |
| Barbecues | Located in the park, but very difficult to access during the markets |
| Stall map | None; stalls change every market, so ask at the information stall |
What if I lose something at the markets?
The council says lost property is taken to its office at 172 Montacute Road, Rostrevor, on the Monday morning after each market. Items are held at the council for a week and then taken to Holden Hill Police Station. To ask about something you lost, phone the council on 8366 9222 between 8:45am and 5:15pm, Monday to Friday. Another council page gives the office hours as 8:45am to 5pm.

What else is on at Thorndon Park this summer?
The next market is on Friday 4 December 2026. A week later, on Saturday 12 December, the council holds its free Christmas carols and movie night at the same park; see our guide to the Campbelltown carols and movie night. Both events use the same car park, so the parking question above applies to each.
