The Nan Tien Market runs on Saturday 7 November 2026 from 9am to 2pm at the Nan Tien Institute in Unanderra, with free parking on site and free Tai Chi at 9:45am. It is held on the first Saturday of every month, and the temple lists 7 November and 5 December as the last two dates of 2026.
This guide uses the market page on the Nan Tien Temple website and the listing on Destination Wollongong, checked on 27 October 2026. Times are New South Wales daylight time (AEDT).
What time does everything start?
The temple publishes a timetable for the day:
| Time | What | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| 9am to 2pm | Market stalls, cafe and art gallery | Gallery listed as free |
| 9:45am to 10:30am | Tai Chi | Free |
| 10:30am to 11am | Meditation and mindfulness | Free |
| 11am and 1pm | Special prize giveaways | Not stated |
| 11:15am to 12pm | Bird walking tour | Free |
The temple also says it hosts workshops and demonstrations through the day, without listing them. The page does not say what the market itself costs to enter, and it does not say whether stalls take cards, so ask the stallholders or check the temple’s Facebook page.

What is there to buy and eat?
The temple describes the stalls as natural health remedies, skincare, arts, crafts, homewares and organic foodstuffs, run by local stallholders it has selected. For food, it lists plant-based meals, snacks and drinks, including a matcha latte and French hot chocolate, plus an on-site Art Cafe with a vegetarian a la carte menu, coffee, tea and cakes. The cafe is open 9am to 2pm. Destination Wollongong’s listing also shows a kiosk, a restaurant and a gift shop at the site.

Where do I park and how do I get there?
The market page promises “plenty of free, on-site parking and bus stop at our doorstep”. Destination Wollongong lists a carpark and coach parking at the venue, the address 231 Nolan Street, Unanderra, and disabled access, asking visitors to contact the operator for details. We did not find a current bus timetable that names the stop, so use the Transport for NSW trip planner for times on the day.
Note that the temple itself has a different address, 180 Berkeley Road, Berkeley. The market is at the Nan Tien Institute on Nolan Street, so set your map for Nolan Street, not Berkeley Road.

Can I visit the temple afterwards?
Yes. The market page suggests walking across the footbridge to the adjoining Nan Tien Temple, which it calls the largest Buddhist temple in Australia, to see the shrines, gardens and ponds. The temple’s opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday and public holidays, 9am to 5pm. The Nan Tien site lists a Main Shrine, Lotus Pond, Meditation Hall, Pagoda and a gift shop among its facilities.

Who do I ask?
The temple gives (02) 4272 0600 for the market, and says updates go to its Facebook and Instagram pages. Check them on the morning in case the program changes.
What if I miss this one?
The temple’s list of 2026 dates shows the market on the first Saturday of each month: 7 March, 4 April, 2 May, 6 June, 4 July, 1 August, 5 September and 3 October have passed, leaving 7 November and 5 December. The page does not say what happens in wet weather, so look at the market’s Facebook or Instagram page on the morning if rain is forecast.
