Campbelltown City Council’s Christmas Carols are on Saturday 5 December 2026 at the Campbelltown Athletics Centre in Leumeah, with gates open from 5pm, carols on stage from 5.30pm, Santa arriving just after 8.30pm and fireworks at 9pm to close the night. Entry is free. Campbelltown is on Sydney time, which is daylight saving time (UTC+11) in December, and every time below is Sydney time.

This guide uses Campbelltown City Council’s Christmas Carols 2026 page, read on 3 November 2026 with every section on the page opened. The Council still lists two sections as “to come”: the performers on stage and the food vendors. We have not filled those gaps with guesses, and we will add the names once the Council publishes them.

What time does the night start, and what happens when?

Time What the Council says
5pm Gates open
From 5.30pm Stage performances begin
Just after 8.30pm Santa’s arrival
9pm Fireworks; the event closes with them

The Council describes the evening as a night where the stadium “will once again be transformed” with live carols on stage and an expanded entertainment program. Alongside the stage, there is free face painting and free inflatable rides, a range of food vendors, and what the Council calls interactive activities and family entertainment through the evening. The page does not give times for the face painting, the rides or the other activities, so treat 5pm to 9pm as the window.

Is it free, and what costs money?

Entry is free. The Council’s snapshot lists the cost as free, and the FAQ says the only cost is for the food trucks. Face painting and inflatable rides are described as free on the main page. The Council also says you can bring your own food, although it expects there to be “plenty of tasty and affordable” options on the night. It adds that there will be choices for every dietary requirement, including vegan, vegetarian and gluten free, but it has not yet named the vendors.

Bringing your own alcohol is not permitted. Smoking and vaping are not allowed at the event outside the designated smoking area.

Where exactly is it, and which gate do I use?

The venue is the Campbelltown Athletics Centre, also written as Campbelltown Athletics Stadium, at 511 Pembroke Road, Leumeah NSW 2560. The Council’s page says entry is via Old Leumeah Road at Gate B, and describes Gate B as the designated event entry point. If you arrive on foot from the station or from a car park, the Council names Gate B as the only designated event entry point.

How do I get there by train or bus?

The Council’s FAQ names Leumeah Station as the closest train station, with an approximate two-minute walk to the event site. It names the Interline Bus Service for bus routes, and the page encourages visitors to use public transport where they can. The Council does not publish a special timetable or extra services for the night on this page, and Transport for NSW is the source for train and bus times.

Where can I park, and which road is closed to the public?

The Council lists three parking options: the Leumeah Commuter Car Park, parking near the Wests League Club, and parking near the Campbelltown Sports Stadium. It says these locations give easy access to Gate B. The page says nothing about parking charges, so we cannot say whether any lot charges a fee.

One rule is clear: parking on Pembroke Road is reserved for performers and will not be available to the public. The Council gives no other detail about Pembroke Road. The page does not give the number of spaces in any of the three parking areas.

Is there accessible parking?

Yes. The Council says accessible parking is available right next to the venue in the Leumeah Commuter Car Park. Park in the designated disabled spots. The page does not say whether a permit is checked.

What can I bring, and what has to stay home?

Item Allowed?
Picnic chairs and picnic blankets Yes
Your own food Yes
Your own alcohol No
Esky, barbecue or shade structure No, for safety reasons; seating will be provided
Dogs No; the Council says dogs are not permitted at this event, for the comfort and safety of all guests
Photos and filming Personal use is fine; the Council encourages guests to share a photo with its social media
Smoking or vaping Only in the designated smoking area

The no-dogs rule is different from the Council’s other Fisher’s Ghost events: the Twilight Streets and Carnival pages say dogs are allowed on a leash. Our guide to the Fisher’s Ghost parade, Twilight Streets and Carnival covers those earlier events, and the Fun Run guide covers the 8 November race.

What if it rains?

The Council’s line is “the show must go on”. If weather becomes extreme and puts attendees, contractors or crew at risk, the event may be cancelled, and the Council says it will post a notice on its social media channels. The page does not give a rain date, so if the weather looks bad on the day, the Council says notices go on its social media channels.

Who will be on stage, and who is serving food?

Not announced yet. The “Stage line-up” section says the Council will reveal the program shortly, and the “Tasty treats” section says a full list of food vendors will be announced soon. The only fixed points are the 5.30pm start for performances, Santa just after 8.30pm and the 9pm fireworks. We last checked on 3 November 2026.

Which parking area is closest to Gate B?

The Council does not rank the three parking areas. It says all of them give easy access to Gate B, and that the Leumeah Commuter Car Park is where the accessible spots are. Gates open at 5pm and the stage starts at 5.30pm.

Who do I contact?

The Council’s Events Team is on 02 4645 4900 and at events@campbelltown.nsw.gov.au. Council social media is where it will post any change on the day. The Council’s page lists the night as an all-ages event with free entry, and it gives the entry point as Gate B off Old Leumeah Road for everyone arriving.
