The Sip N Sleigh Christmas Cocktail Trail returns to Darwin Waterfront every night from 14 November to 13 December 2026. A ticket costs $120 and comes with four drink tokens and four food tokens, which you spend at nine Waterfront venues between 5:30pm and 8:30pm. This guide covers how the trail works, what each venue serves, how to book, and where to park or catch a bus, using the Waterfront’s own pages, checked on 31 October 2026.
How does the Sip N Sleigh trail work?
The Darwin Waterfront event page describes a self-guided trail. You book a ticket for a night, collect a trail booklet from the Wave Lagoon kiosk, then wander between venues at your own pace. Each booklet holds the menu for every venue and a set of tear-off tokens. When you are ready to sip or eat, you tear out a token and hand it to your server.
| Step | What the Waterfront says |
|---|---|
| 1 | Book a ticket for the night you want |
| 2 | Collect your booklet from the Wave Lagoon kiosk |
| 3 | Choose venues from the booklet and wander at your own pace |
| 4 | Tear out a token for each festive cocktail or small plate you order |
| 5 | Finish within the trail session, 5:30pm to 8:30pm |
The booklet’s menu says one token is required per signature small plate or cocktail. Each ticket carries four drink tokens and four food tokens, so a full set means four cocktails and four plates. The event page says the trail suits a group of friends or a work team.

What does it cost, and how do I book?
The Waterfront sends you to a booking page on the Roller ticketing system. It lists one product, the Sip & Sleigh Ticket, at $120.00 (as of 31 October 2026). You pick a date, choose how many tickets you want and pay online. The event page calls it a ticketed experience, and each booking gives the buyer four drink vouchers and four food vouchers.
The booking page also sets a limit: no more than 10 bookings per person are available on a given day, with the option to pre-arrange for larger groups.
What time do I need to be there?
The session runs from 5:30pm to 8:30pm, and the booking page asks you to complete your trail within that time. The cut-off for collecting your booklet is where the two pages disagree:
| Page | Booklet collection |
|---|---|
| Waterfront event page | Collect the booklet from the Wave Lagoon kiosk before 5.30pm |
| Roller booking page | The guide must be collected prior to 6pm on the day of your booking from the Wave Lagoon kiosk |
We cannot tell from the pages which one is right; the earlier time is 5:30pm. The booking page adds a rule for latecomers: if you arrive after 6pm you cannot collect the guide that day, and you will need to collect it on another day within the event period. It also says you cannot take part without the guide, which is only handed out at the Wave Lagoon kiosk.
Which venues are on the trail, and what do they serve?
The booklet lists nine venues, each with one signature cocktail and one small plate. This is the menu as printed in the 2026 booklet.
| Venue | Cocktail | Food |
|---|---|---|
| Dock One | Santa’s Hat (vanilla vodka, cranberry, fresh lemon and Cointreau, with a vanilla sugar rim) | Toasted walnut crusted brie |
| F3 Sports. Social | Christmas Margarita (tequila, cranberry, fresh lime and a touch of orange, with a sparkling sugar rim) | Pumpkin arancini with truffle mayo and a touch of cranberry relish |
| Hot Tamale | Frosty Creamy Mango Margarita (Jose Cuervo Tradicional Reposado tequila, local KP mango, fresh lime, vanilla cream foam) | Carnitas tostada |
| Oyster Bar | Mrs Claus (lime juice, passoa, spiced rum, coconut milk, honey syrup, angostura, shaved coconut rim) | Seafood tasting plate: 1 cooked prawn, 1 fresh oyster, 1 calamari ring |
| Pink Chopstix | Pink Sleigh (a frozen cocktail with pink gin, strawberry puree, fresh lime juice and triple sec) | House-made pork dumplings |
| Salted Egg | Scarlet Noel (gin, Campari, mandarin cordial and cranberry soda, with a dried cranberry garnish) | Sleigh Bao: two Thai grilled chicken baos with lemongrass chicken, cranberry nahm jim, carrot and daikon pickle, Thai basil and crispy shallots |
| Snapper Rocks | Hibiscus and Raspberry Gin Sour with a coconut foam, made with Ancient Lands Australian Dry Gin | House sourdough focaccia bruschetta |
| The Precinct Tavern | Waterfront Sunset (Malibu, vodka, orange juice and grenadine) | Sliders and wings: 2 beef brisket sliders with 2 chicken wings |
| Wharf One | Tropical Christmas Martini (gin, mango, passionfruit and lime, finished with a splash of sparkling wine and a festive rosemary garnish) | Citrus-cured yellowfin tuna on a crostini, with wasabi mayo and sesame |
Because a ticket gives you four drink tokens and four food tokens, you cannot visit all nine venues on one ticket. The event page says to choose your favourite venues from the booklet menu. The event page says the tokens are redeemed at “selected restaurants”.

How do I get to Darwin Waterfront?
The Waterfront’s Getting Around page gives three ways in.
| Way in | What the Waterfront says |
|---|---|
| Walk | An easy five-minute stroll from Darwin city, along Hughes Avenue and over a sky bridge. A glass-walled observation lift and ramps make it accessible |
| Bus | Route 14 of the Darwin public bus network serves the Waterfront Precinct |
| Drive | Parking is available seven days a week (see the next section) |
Once you are there, a free shuttle bus runs a 15-minute loop between 11:30am and 2pm and then from 4pm to 9pm, so it covers the whole trail session. Its stops include Stokes Hill Wharf, the Darwin Convention Centre, the Vibe and Adina hotels, and the Waterfront Parklands and Recreation area. The Waterfront’s shuttle page has the full list of eight stops. The Getting Around page also mentions a 12-seater bus in one place and a 21-seater in another, so do not rely on seat numbers.

Where can I park, and what does it cost?
The trail runs from 5:30pm, which is after the weekday charging hours at most Waterfront car parks. The Waterfront’s parking page sets out the rules, as of 31 October 2026.
| Car park | Charges, from the Waterfront |
|---|---|
| On-street meters | Fees do not apply on weekdays outside 8am to 5pm, or on weekends. Parking is still monitored, and fines apply to illegal parking |
| Jervois Road car park | 8am to 5pm: $2 per hour or $6 all day. Paid Monday to Friday; free outside the listed hours and on weekends |
| Stokes Hill Road car park | 8am to 4pm: $3 per hour or $8 all day. Paid Monday to Friday; free outside the listed hours and on weekends |
| Fort Hill Parkland car park | 8am to 5pm: $3 per hour or $8 all day, paid through the PayStay app only. Paid Monday to Friday |
| Kitchener Drive multi-storey | Cashless, with number plate recognition. Free for under two hours; up to 3 hours costs $4 and up to 4 hours costs $6 (up to 5 hours costs $11). Vehicle height limit 2.3 metres |
| Darwin Convention Centre basement | Open 24 hours, flat rate of $5 per day |
| Stokes Hill Wharf | Free for the first 3 hours; after that a fee of up to $10 per hour applies |
The parking page warns that there are fewer car parks at the wharf during lunch and dinner, and it suggests the Stokes Hill Road car park (500 metres from the wharf) and the Convention Centre rear car park as alternatives. If a meter fails, the page says to report it to the Waterfront Corporation on 8999 5155 before you leave your vehicle; the number is also printed on the meters.

What else is on at the Waterfront in November and December?
The trail booklet itself points to a wider Christmas program. It invites visitors to join the Waterfront any night from 28 November to 20 December for a community program of music, dance and live entertainment, with details on the Waterfront events page. That page also lists a Christmas Light Trail, which asks local groups and businesses to register to take part, and a New Year’s Eve event on 31 December for which the Waterfront has not yet published details.
On the first night of the trail, Saturday 14 November, the City of Darwin’s Christmas Pageant is also on in the city. For the Pageant, see our Darwin Christmas Pageant route and parking guide for the route and parking; the Waterfront is a five-minute walk from the city.

Is the Waterfront accessible?
The Waterfront’s Getting Around page lists lift access between Darwin city and the Waterfront, a lift in the multi-storey car park, ramps around the precinct and one-level access to the major areas. The parking page says the Kitchener Drive multi-storey car park has five disabled spaces on levels 2 and above, close to the lifts, and that other disabled bays are spread across the precinct. The pages we read do not describe access inside each trail venue, so contact a venue before you book if you need step-free access to a specific table.
Who do I contact with questions?
The Waterfront’s events page is the official place for updates, and the Roller booking page handles tickets. For a faulty parking meter the Waterfront gives 8999 5155. The event is run by the Darwin Waterfront Corporation, and the booking page sits under the Aqua Park Darwin ticketing account.
