If you have a ticket to the Rugby League World Cup finals double header at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday 15 November 2026, gates open at 2:15pm, the Women’s Final kicks off at 3:10pm and the Men’s Final at 6:35pm. There are no public car parks on event days, and the stadium says your event ticket includes free public transport.
This guide uses the stadium’s event page, Getting Here, FAQ, Conditions of Entry and Accessibility pages and its parking restrictions page, and Translink’s event transport page for the finals, read on Thursday 5 November 2026 (the stadium pages were read on Saturday 31 October). Brisbane is on Queensland time (AEST, UTC+10), which has no daylight saving.

What time do the gates open, and when are the two finals?
The stadium’s event page lists the gates and the two kick-offs, and Translink’s page adds the free-travel and shuttle start times. The stadium describes the day as a Men’s and Women’s Finals double header.
| Time (Sunday 15 November) | What happens | Source |
|---|---|---|
| 10:10am | Free travel begins | Translink event page |
| 12:15pm | Fifteen-minute parking limits start in the Lang Park Traffic Area (two hours before gates, by our arithmetic) | Stadium parking page |
| 1:30pm | Event shuttles begin | Translink event page |
| 2:15pm | Gates open | Stadium event page and Translink |
| 3:10pm | Women’s Final kick-off (Game 1) | Stadium event page and Translink |
| 6:35pm | Men’s Final kick-off (Game 2) | Stadium event page and Translink |
The event page does not name the teams, give a finish time or say how long the break between the two matches is. It tells patrons to arrive well ahead of kick-off to avoid queues. The stadium’s FAQ says your gate entry location is shown on your ticket, and recommends downloading the ticket before you arrive so the barcode is ready to scan. The event page adds that the event is not included in Suncorp Stadium Membership for 2026, because the match is part of an internationally sanctioned tournament.
Is public transport free with a ticket?
The stadium says yes. Its Getting Here page says public transport is included free with your event ticket on all Queensland Rail City Network services, excluding Airtrain and ferries, and all Transport for Brisbane bus services. Its FAQ says the offer applies from 4 hours before the main game’s kick-off to 4 hours after the game ends, and that you present your ticket to rail and bus staff as you board. If you have not collected your ticket yet, the FAQ says you can show your confirmation email.
On a double header, the stadium’s pages do not say which match counts as “the main game”, but Translink’s event page now answers the question for this day. It lists free travel beginning at 10:10 am, event shuttles beginning at 1:30 pm, gates at 2:15 pm, Game 1 (the Women’s World Cup Final) at 3:10 pm and Game 2 (the Men’s World Cup Final) at 6:35 pm. It says free travel begins 4 hours before and concludes 4 hours after the event, and that you need a pre-purchased game ticket or a stadium membership card. The free travel covers all regular network-wide Brisbane City Council buses and Citytrains, and excludes Brisbane City Council ferries, the G: and Airtrain services. The stadium’s event page notes that this event is not included in Suncorp Stadium Membership for 2026, so the membership card line will not apply to this day.
Will there be shuttle buses?
Yes, according to Translink. If you have a pre-purchased game ticket you can travel free on its shuttle services from five areas. Shuttles to the game run from 1:30pm, and shuttles from the game run until one hour after the game finishes. Translink says to check back closer to game day to see which extra trains will be running; it has not listed extra trains yet.
| Shuttle area | To the game (from 1:30pm) | Where it stops at the stadium |
|---|---|---|
| Brisbane City | At regular intervals until 6:20pm | Southern Plaza shuttle stop, Maroon zone |
| Carindale | At regular intervals until 6pm | Southern Plaza shuttle stop, Blue zone |
| Chermside | At regular intervals until 6pm | Southern Plaza shuttle stop, Green zone |
| Eight Mile Plains and Mt Gravatt | At regular intervals until 6pm | Southern Plaza shuttle stop, Yellow zone |
| The Gap | At regular intervals until 6pm | Given Terrace shuttle stop |

Are there any train closures that weekend?
Yes, on the Gold Coast line. Translink’s event page lists a weekend track closure on the Gold Coast line from Saturday 14 to Sunday 15 November, with timetabled railbuses replacing trains between Helensvale and Varsity Lakes. If you are coming up from the Gold Coast by train, plan for the railbus leg and allow extra time. The page also says there are bus diversions on Caxton Street, so check the service updates before you leave.
When we read Translink’s service updates list on 31 October, it also showed a late-night closure on the Beenleigh, Cleveland and Gold Coast lines on 17 and 18 November, and a temporary stop closure at Nicklin Way, Wurtulla, on 13 November, neither of which falls on the day. Translink adds notices close to the date, so check its service updates before you leave. Translink’s fares pages say a normal journey costs 50 cents regardless of distance and payment method, as of October 2026, for anyone not covered by the free travel; Translink is on 13 12 30, 24 hours a day.
Can I park near the stadium?
No. The stadium calls itself a public transport destination and says there are no public car parks on event days. Fifteen-minute parking limits apply across the Lang Park Traffic Area, which is an area about 1.5km around the venue, and on-the-spot fines are issued to drivers who break them. The stadium’s parking page says the limits generally apply from two hours before the gates-open time until after the event, unless signs say otherwise. For a 2:15pm gates time that means from 12:15pm, which is our arithmetic, not a time printed on the page. Road closures are in place around the stadium before, during and after major events, and the stadium asks drivers to follow police and traffic controllers.
| Question | What the stadium says |
|---|---|
| Public car parks | None on event days |
| Street parking | Fifteen-minute limits in the Lang Park Traffic Area, with on-the-spot fines |
| Taxis | Rank outside Sports House on Castlemaine Street, at the north-west corner near Caxton Street |
| Ride-share | The venue says it continues to use pick-up zones after events from September 2026; see its Rideshare Pick Up Zones page |
| Coaches and limousines | Limited on-street spaces; a permit application is required |
| Bikes | Racks on the North and South Plazas |
| Accessible parking | Very limited, allocated by a lottery for events |

What can I bring in?
The event page says only bags A3 size or smaller are allowed, and the stadium’s FAQ encourages patrons to leave bags at home to speed up entry. Cloaking is available on the Southern Plaza. Patrons may be wanded and have their bags checked.
- Water in a bottle with an unbroken factory seal, up to 1.25L, is allowed, as is tea or coffee in a thermos. Empty water bottles can be filled at water stations inside.
- Food from commercial outlets cannot be brought in; homemade food in a container other than glass is allowed. Alcohol cannot be brought in.
- Flags and banners are allowed if they are not offensive or political, no larger than 1.5m x 1.5m, with poles no thicker than 2cm.
- Umbrellas can be brought but not raised in the seating or concourse areas; the stadium suggests a jacket or poncho.
- Sunscreen in aerosol cans is not allowed; pump containers are.
- Personal cameras with lenses of 200mm or under are allowed; commercial cameras, tripods and monopods are not.
- Smoking and vaping are not allowed inside, and offenders are evicted without warning.
The stadium is cashless, so bring a card. Passes-out are issued at the Northern and Southern Plaza ends, and you need your ticket to be scanned out and back in. The stadium’s conditions of entry say that where tickets are bought from a third-party re-seller or non-authorised agent, the venue is under no obligation to find those people a seat, and the event page names Ticketmaster as the authorised agent for this event, so buy only from that source.

What help is there for accessibility?
The stadium lists 220 wheelchair positions with 220 escort seats, 312 enhanced amenity seats, five wheelchair access gates, two Changing Places facilities, a Parents Room, a Quiet Room and hearing assistance. On most event days an Accessibility Attendant in a pink high-visibility vest roams the Level 3 concourse near the Info Desk. The stadium says accessible tickets can be requested on Ticketek’s Accessibility Line on 1300 665 915, but because this event uses a different authorised agent, read the event page’s ticketing section and the stadium’s accessibility page before you book, or phone the stadium on (07) 3331 5000.
The stadium’s FAQ says children’s safety wristbands, on which parents record their contact details, are available free from the information desks inside the North and South Gates. Patrons who need to bring a prohibited medical item, such as an insulin pen or EpiPen, are asked to complete the stadium’s Medical Register form before the event. For help with anti-social behaviour, the stadium says to tell a staff member in a green shirt, or use the SunSecure text service listed on the stadium’s FAQ page.

What should I check closer to the day?
Check Translink’s event page for the finals again in the week of the game, because it says the extra train services are still to come. Also check the stadium’s event page for a changed time, and its social media for weather updates: the stadium is an open-air venue, and the FAQ says an event may be delayed in bad weather. For how the same ground handled an earlier tournament match, see our guide to Australia v Fiji at Suncorp Stadium on 25 October.
