The Persian Fair and Bazaar returns to Box Hill Town Hall on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 November 2026, open from 11am to 4:30pm on both days, with free entry on Saturday and a $5 entry on Sunday, when children under 12 get in free.

House of Persia Community and Cultural Centre presents the fair. This guide uses the Whitehorse City Council event listing, the venue directions on the Creative Whitehorse website and the organiser’s contact details, all checked on 31 October 2026.

When is the Persian Fair, and what does it cost?

Day Date Hours Entry
Saturday 14 November 2026 11am to 4:30pm Free
Sunday 15 November 2026 11am to 4:30pm $5 (children under 12 free)

The council listing does not say why Saturday is free and Sunday is charged, and it does not say whether the Sunday entry is a gold-coin donation or a fixed ticket. The listing does not say which payments are accepted at the door.

What is on at the Persian Fair?

The listing describes a two-day celebration of the culture, traditions and hospitality of Iran. The two days are described slightly differently, so here is what the organiser lists for each.

Saturday 14 November Sunday 15 November
Traditional Persian bazaar and market Cultural music and performances
Persian food Marketplace with products and services
Children’s entertainment Traditional food stalls
Live music and cultural experiences Children’s face painting
Products and gifts Entertainment and family activities

The organiser calls the Saturday food “authentic” and the Sunday food “traditional”; the listing names no dishes, no caterers and no performers. If you want a particular dish or act, ask the organiser before you go.

The organiser invites visitors to bring family and friends to experience the colours, flavours, music and traditions of Persian culture. Nothing in the listing sets an age limit, so the fair is open to all ages, with entertainment and face painting aimed at children.

Where is it, and what is the building like?

The fair is at Box Hill Town Hall, 1022 Whitehorse Road, Box Hill VIC 3128. Creative Whitehorse says the Town Hall opened in 1935 and has an Art Deco Main Hall used for expos, balls and formal dinners. It is registered with the National Trust.

The listing does not say which rooms the fair uses. Follow the signs on the day.

How do I get to Box Hill Town Hall by public transport?

Creative Whitehorse publishes directions for the Town Hall on its Culture Fest page, because that festival also uses this venue. They apply to the building, not to one event, and are the best official guide to the walk.

Mode What the council says
Train Box Hill Station, on the Belgrave and Lilydale lines, is about a seven-minute walk
Tram Route 109 ends at Box Hill Central on Whitehorse Road, a short walk away
Bus Several routes stop at Box Hill Bus Station, about a seven-minute walk

Check Public Transport Victoria for timetable changes before you travel, as the council advises.

Can I park near Box Hill Town Hall?

Parking is limited. Creative Whitehorse lists on-street parking along Whitehorse Road and Bank Street, more parking behind Box Hill Library and several nearby multi-level car parks. It asks visitors to allow extra time to find a space and recommends walking, cycling, carpooling or public transport.

Prices and time limits for those car parks are not given, so read the signs when you park. Creative Whitehorse recommends walking, cycling, carpooling or public transport where possible.

Is the venue accessible?

The council marks the event as having disabled access and as accessible by public transport. Creative Whitehorse says the main entrance is on Whitehorse Road, a second entrance is on Bank Street, and all entrances are wheelchair accessible.

Which day should I go?

If cost matters, Saturday is free. If you prefer a quieter visit, the organiser does not say which day is quieter, so there is nothing official to base that on. Both days run the same hours, so you can arrive at 11am for the opening or come later in the afternoon, before the 4:30pm finish.

The same hall hosts the Whitehorse 60th Art Show from 29 October to 1 November, so check that guide for more on parking at the Town Hall. To ask about stalls, performers, food or accessibility, email the organiser at persianfair@houseofpersia.org.au. The organiser also has a Facebook page for the fair, linked in the sources below.
