The City of Salisbury has three Christmas events in the next five weeks: a free market at The Mawson Centre on Saturday 21 November, a $5-a-head Christmas Magic night at the Salisbury Community Hub library on Friday 4 December, and a free family afternoon with Santa and carols at Carisbrooke Park on Sunday 6 December. Only Christmas Magic needs a ticket.
This guide compares the three using the City’s own event pages, read on Saturday 31 October 2026. South Australia is on daylight saving (UTC+10:30), so every time is Adelaide time. We have a separate full guide to Christmas at Carisbrooke if you want the Toy Run and the full activity list.

What is the Mawson Centre Christmas Market on 21 November?
The City says the market is back for its 13th year and runs from 10am to 2pm on Saturday 21 November at The Mawson Centre. It lists the event as free, and the page says no booking is required. The City promises “a variety of unique stallholders” to browse, and food and drink from local vendors, including hot and cold drinks and ice-cream, with a seated area for you and the children.
Other details from the page:
- A sensory space for people who want time away from the noise.
- The City says the event is fully accessible to everyone.
- Free children’s activities including face painting and live music.
- Support from the Rotary Club of Mawson Lakes and Adelaide University.
The page does not list the stallholders, does not say how many there are, and gives the venue only as “The Mawson Centre”, with no street address. The page does not say whether stalls take cards.
What is Christmas Magic at the Library on 4 December?
Christmas Magic is a ticketed family evening at the Salisbury Community Hub, 34 Church Street, Salisbury SA 5108, from 4:30pm to 7pm on Friday 4 December. The City sets the ticket at $5 per person and says bookings are required through Eventbrite. It also says that to guarantee entry you should buy a ticket for each person attending, including children, parents and caregivers. Each ticket covers all activities for the night.
The City lists this schedule:
| Activity | Time or detail |
|---|---|
| Meet Santa and his elf helper | You receive a free book from Santa |
| Elf circus performance | 5pm and 6pm |
| Interactive robot wonderland | Listed as an activity |
| Christmas scavenger hunt | Listed as an activity |
| Christmas face painting and Christmas craft | Listed as activities |
| Letters to Santa station | Listed as an activity |
| Soft play | Listed as an activity |
| Pizza | From 5:30pm until it runs out |
The page says you can drop by for one or two activities if you cannot stay the full evening. It does not say what happens at the door if you arrive without a ticket, so the City’s “guaranteed entry” wording is the safest guide.

Could Christmas Magic sell out?
Possibly. The City’s events calendar shows two other Salisbury Community Hub events as “SOLD OUT” when we checked on 28 and 31 October 2026: the Halloween Spooktacular on 30 October and the Salisbury Author Series with Pip Williams on 5 November. The Halloween event was also $5 and booked on Eventbrite. The Christmas Magic page shows no sold-out label today, but the City has not said how many tickets it has, so we cannot say how fast they will go. If you want to go, book early.
What is on at Christmas at Carisbrooke on 6 December?
The City runs this free afternoon at Carisbrooke Park with the Brothers Ink 5th Annual Toy Run. It says Santa arrives at 12pm with the convoy, Salisbury City Band plays carols from 1pm to 2pm, and the day has a bouncy castle, cornhole, mini golf, reindeer ring toss, face painting, bungee trampolines and SES Touch a Truck, plus food stalls such as the Salisbury Rotary Club BBQ and Big Softy Ice Creams. Bookings are not required. The Toy Run is collecting new, unwrapped gifts for Puddle Jumpers. Our Carisbrooke guide has the full list.

What does a family of four pay, and what is the same at all three?
Because Christmas Magic charges $5 for every person, including children, parents and carers, a family of four would need four tickets at $5 each. The Mawson Centre market and Christmas at Carisbrooke are listed as free events with no booking, so the entry cost there is nothing. Food and drink at the market and at the park are sold by vendors, and the pages give no prices.
Face painting is listed at all three events: the market calls it a free children’s activity, Christmas Magic lists Christmas face painting, and Carisbrooke lists face painting among its activities. Each also has food on the day. The market and the park have vendors, and Christmas Magic serves pizza from 5:30pm until it runs out. Beyond that the events are different: the market is for browsing stalls, Christmas Magic is a timed indoor evening with two elf circus shows, and Carisbrooke is an outdoor afternoon built around the Toy Run and the carols.
The three dates are spread across about two weeks. The market is on Saturday 21 November, Christmas Magic is on Friday 4 December, and Carisbrooke is on Sunday 6 December, two days after Christmas Magic. All three sit inside the City’s published event calendar as of 31 October 2026, and the City can still change them.
How do I get to each event, and where do I park?
None of the three City pages gives parking, bus or road-closure advice. They give only the venue: The Mawson Centre (no street address on the page), the Salisbury Community Hub at 34 Church Street, and Carisbrooke Park on Main North Road, Salisbury Park SA 5109. We therefore cannot tell you where to park or which stop to use. For public transport, enter each venue into the Adelaide Metro journey planner nearer the date and match the result to the event times.

What do the City’s pages not say?
- Parking, bus routes and any road closures for all three events.
- The street address of The Mawson Centre, and which stallholders will be at the market.
- How many Christmas Magic tickets there are, and whether tickets are sold at the door.
- Rain or extreme-heat plans for Carisbrooke Park.
